There is a new version of the FLR (M) Application Form from the 24th of November... So glad I just checked, we are applying on Monday
Also remember that there will be a new ILR next year, I'm wondering if there will be a financial requirement or will it stay the same as it is just having to show adequate maintenance.
Glad i checked, I just thought that its all done . I can chill for the weekend.... It doesn't look much different, just a couple of minor changes by the looks of things....
I hope so too because it states on the front page that from the 24th of November onward's this form must be used for all applications. I hope no one gets caught out on Monday Morning at the visa centres with this one.
The latest FLR (M) Guidance note now warns that from May 2017 the minimum english language level requirement for FLR will will be level A2. Also stated in the following https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/a2-english-language-requirement-statement-of-intent
If I read this correctly, the A2 is only required for those applying for their 2nd FLR(M) after May 1st 2017 How will the requirement be met? 13. From 1 May 2017, applicants who have completed 2.5 years (30 months) in the UK with leave as a partner or parent under Appendix FM to the Immigration Rules, and who are applying for further leave to remain in that category, will be required to obtain an approved English language speaking and listening qualification at level A2 or higher, unless they: Are a national of a majority English-speaking country (Annex B); Hold a degree taught or researched in English (Annex C); or Are exempt from the requirement.
Yes after May 2017 A2 English Tests will be required for any further leave to remain applications, the reason it is May 2017 is because by that time everyone will be on the five year route. There will also be a new ILR form out next year, that's the one I'm interested in. A lot of people have already taken English Tests higher than A2 and will be able to continue using the result for further leaves to remain. Its confusing and messy, IMO it would be better to start off with a higher English Test that does for all applications and have done with it. I've said this many times, it really annoys me that Filipinos have to take an English Test.
The point I was making is, if I read it correctly, it's not required for ALL FLR(M) applications after May 2017, just for those applying for their 2nd FLR(M) after 2 and a half years, not for those applying for their first FLR(M). I 100% agree it's very messy!
Yes, if you are switching from fiancée visa to FLR (m) you can still use the level A1 used successfully on your fiancée visa. Only those who completed the first 2.5 years of their FLR (m) are expected to get a new level of the English requirement.
