Speaking of which it seems the green card is easier to attain there if the wife's friend is anything to go by. She got to the US before my wife got to the UK but she is now a citizen and she has her parents now residing in the US with her. No doubt they will be citizens before the wife gets her very own. This country does my head in sometimes!
You're right, it appears to be a lot easier getting into the US and obtaining the green card, two of the wife's daughters have gone to live there with their Father and the wife commented saying the paperwork side of things is a lot easier than the UK settlement visa. My sister in law recently obtained a work visa for Canada, apparently that was not as easy.
You are right Mike, I was looking at a graph on the BBC website yesterday and there is at least twice as many Filipino nurses as any other Nationalities which I think tells its own story, Filipinos are good nurses with excellent English skills and of course they integrate well as we all know from our own experience.
