A number of changes came into effect on 9th of July. My biggest worry is the first point:

"introducing a new minimum income threshold of £18,600 for sponsoring the settlement in the UK of a spouse or partner, or fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner of non-European Economic Area (EEA) nationality, with a higher threshold for any children also sponsored; £22,400 for one child and an additional £2,400 for each further child"

Does it affect also those with permanent residency (I'm not British Citizen) too? The minimum income threshold is what I got before tax and additional I have two children from previous relationship (they both live in the UK, I do not pay any child maintenance but still support them). Seems I won't be able to bring my wife (we are planning to get married in Philippines on October) over here anymore..

This does not apply to you so long as you take up the EEA route.

Hence a sticking point for many people, that British citizens have to earn this amount but for other European citizens staying in the UK need only to prove that they have a home and income to support a spouse.
