Not sure which place to put this: I've just released an eBook version of Hang The Dogs: The True Tragic Story of the Balangiga Massacre. The blurb goes thusly: As America's first brutal war in Asia winds down a US Infantry Company is almost wiped out on the island of Samar. The Balangiga Massacre seemed to be the 9/11 of its day leading to a controversial campaign to finally crush the will of a people fighting for their own independence. Now a 10 year research project uncovers what really happened, the human story of the complex pressures that led a peaceful townspeople to suddenly turn on a heavily-armed infantry company, and reveals lessons still relevant to today's counterinsurgency challenges. It's fine Bob, I guess your book delves into "Life in the Philippines" so it's more than appropriate for this section. Good luck with it as well...
That's. It's a history book for people who don't read history books. Warning: if your missus or girlfriend comes from Samar, especially Balangiga, Lawaan, Giporlos or Quinapondan you'll probably wanty to hide sharp objects before letting her read it
In other words. if she's Waray... Seriously, I have a print copy which I bought in Solidaridad Bookstore, Padere Faura, Malate - the only real bookshop in the whole of the Philippines. It's a good read.
