Hi, I am applying for my first British passport and I’ve just spotted a potential problem.

So my name in my Phil passport is (example only)
    First name: Rose Ann
Middle name: Lopez (this was my maiden surname)
    Surname: Smith

My full name in my Naturalisation Certificate is
Rose Ann Smith (no middle name)

The passport application website says that my name on my new British passport should match the name on my Phil passport which is fine. However my full name on my naturalisation certificate did not include my middle name.

The problem stems from the fact that in the UK women drops their maiden surname when they marry, but in the Phils it is retained as a middle name. So different format really.

Has anyone had this problem before? Will it cause any delay in my passport application?

    Thanks
