Very sad news. Reading the article it seems the husband is British. CEBU CITY, Philippines — A woman and her 11-year-old daughter were killed and dumped in a septic tank of their house in Deca Homes Phase 2, Barangay Tungkil, Minglanilla town, at least 17 kilometers south of here. The body of Virginia Sharpe, 37, was found floating inside the septic tank past 9 a.m. on Thursday, said Chief Inspector Richard Gadingan, Minglanilla police chief. The police also found a sack containing the body of her daughter, Mica Ella who was still in her school uniform, he added. The bodies of two victims had stab wounds and were in a state of decomposition. Virginia’s husband is a foreigner based in London. http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/714909/mom-daughter-found-dead-inside-septic-tank
RIP Virginia and Mica Ella Sharpe. Virginia's husband is British and press reports do indicate that he's a Londoner but that may be pure speculation on their part. I do hope, however, that the Police notified the British Embassy before giving the story to the press so that the Foreign Office could arrange for local Police Officers to visit Mr Sharpe and break this very sad news to him. But they likely neglected to do so meaning Mr Sharpe could well arrive for his expected visit this month to find his kitchen floor dug up and his wife of 11 years and his step-daughter lying in the morgue. The prime suspects for the murder of his wife and step-daughter are carpenters from Calajoan, Minglanila, that his wife employed to renovate their home in advance of his [Mr Sharpe's] imminent arrival in Cebu. Those carpenters are in custody and the Police do intend to file complaints of murder against them. This news reports indicates money is involved:- http://www.philstar.com/cebu-news/2015/08/21/1490468/2-found-dead-septic-tank What a terrible tragic story. At least the perpetrators have been arrested. RIP to both Sad to say, but life can be so cheap here in the paradise islands
I'm sure that is the case and it's entirely possible that the murderers discovered that Mrs Sharpe's husband is a foreigner and attempted to extort a much higher price for their work than was previously agreed and that she and her daughter paid the ultimate price.
Mr Sharpe found out about the murders of his wife and daughter yesterday afternoon when friends in Cebu contacted him. He had to phone the Police twice before they would confirm the news.
He posted a new topic on LIC asking if the story he had heard in the U.K was for real.. He definitively knows. Heartbreaking, horrifying news. R.I.P I read that she gave one worker 25K cash in advance. He obviously become angry and frustrated that it had to be paid back.. That said..I still count this as conjecture until it is confirmed.
Very sad news indeed. God will punish the perpetrators. May they rest in peace and I will pray for the husband. Very sad.
Shabu before murder ONE of three men arrested for the murder of a woman and her child in Minglanilla said that he and another suspect used shabu before they carried out their plan. Manuel Labrador accused Estelito Recamora of killing the two victims, but Recamora retorted that it was Labrador who planned the crime. Recamora also denied using drugs. A tablet believed to have been owned by Virginia Sharpe, 37, was recovered from Recamora’s possession after his arrest last Thursday afternoon. Labrador alleged that Recamora used a steel pipe to kill Sharpe and her daughter Mica Ella, 11. He added that he and the third man the police arrested, George Baquiran, only helped Recamora hide the bodies in a septic tank under the Sharpe home’s kitchen floor. Virginia’s mother, Narcisa Quilojano, arrived yesterday from San Vicente, Zamboanga del Sur and wept at the sight of her daughter and granddaughter in body bags. http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/local-news/2015/08/21/shabu-murder-426033
Suspect in Cebu double murder confesses. Crime solved, but husband says, ‘Part of my life has been torn away’. Chief Insp. Richard Gadingan, chief of the Minglanilla Police Station, talks to Robert Sharpe, who arrived two days after the bodies of his wife Virginia and stepchild Mica Ella were found buried under their kitchen floor. (Sun.Star Foto/Arni Aclao) THE first thing Robert Sharpe did when he reached the town of Minglanilla yesterday was to grab a tissue from his bag and wipe away the tears from his eyes. Sharpe, a 58-year-old British national, sat on a bench a few steps away from the men who allegedly killed and buried his wife and 11-year-old stepdaughter last week. He refused to go farther so that he would not see their faces. “I don’t want to see them; it’s too painful for me,” he said. It is and I'm sure with some consultation between said parties things could have been so much more different. Such a drastic act.
