My future mother in law is a lovely lady, hard working, kind, considerate and had a very hard life, I have tremendous respect and affection for her. Her English is not great but she makes herself well understood.
My mother in law is a great lady too.. She knows English though! It is her mother that I have the most fun with, who speaks hardly any English at all and yet communicates with the few English words she does know, such as "Eat" when it is dinner time In fact I miss the comedic conversations we used to have where I would end up sending her into a fit of laughter.. In laws eh.
