Hi everyone! My wife is in the process of applying for her visa and the overly cautious people that we are, have got stuck at the very start! My wife has her passport as FIRST FIRST, FATHERSURNAME, MARRIEDSURNAME When applying, it asks for Given names and Family name , but it also says to include middle names in Given name, but not sure if this is asking for the UK middle name style or philippines style ie fathers surname? I trust that others have been through the same scenario and was wondering if they applied as :- Given name(s) : FIRST FIRST, FATHERSURNAME Family name : MARRIEDSURNAME OR Given name : FIRST FIRST Family name : FATHERSURNAME, MARRIEDSURNAME OR Given name : FIRST FIRST Family name : MARRIEDSURNAME Again, I think we are being too cautious, and whats on the passport etc will matter most, but just incase Many thanks! Stuart
The key is it matches passport my wife uses First name Jub… (Christian name) Middle name. Lams.. Fatherss surname Married name Towns…. our married name
Thanks Mattecube , we opted to continue with Given : Christian names and middle (father's surname) Family : married name
If I remember correctly, somewhere in the application it asks you to 'list all names used...' or something to that effect. For official (i.e. Visa, Passport, Driving Licence) purposes, my wife has stuck with her Maiden names - Given (First) name, Mother's Maiden Surname (Middle) and Father's Surname (Last) - but her bank account, employment and GP records are in her Married names, Given (First), Father's Surname (Middle) and Married Surname (Last). All the bank, employer and GP required was a copy of the Marriage Certificate - and an explanation of the naming convention for married Filipinas (losing their Maiden Middle name!).
Thanks UKDJ, yes we continued and it asked for her other ID so we put in there what her name was prior to being married. It actually states to add patronymic names as Given name, so it was clear in the application, just a brain freeze haha
