Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's fight sold out within minutes and tickets immediately appeared on websites for as much as £47,000 ($70,790).

Only 1,000 tickets were made available to the public for the fight on 2 May at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The remaining 15,500 seats will go to fighters, sponsors and promoters.

The cheapest ticket for the bout cost £1,000 ($1,500), rising to about £5,000 ($7,500).

The contest between the two has been set since February, but a ticket contract was only finalised this week.

I have read that they were going to stream the event for free at certain venues in PI. Regardless of that I bet the internet cafes will be busy that day.

Yep. I remember watching the Ali fights when I was 6 or 7. He commanded not only the fights but the audience.

I see tickets are on offer now for as much as £90,000! Who'd pay that to go to a boxing match?

I love Muhammad Ali. I think for anyone who was around at that time he was a total icon.

I went to see Disney on Ice at the Areneta Coliseum in 2012 purely because I wanted to go to where The Thriller In Manila took place.

I`m not totally certain about that.. Frazer hated Ali till the day he died because of the way Ali constantly referred to him as "Uncle Tom" and "The gorrila in Manila"..

I cant stand Mayweather but have to say he is one of the most talented boxers I ever saw in my lifetime..
Just hope Manny can find a way through his famous defense and knock him sparko.
Boxing fans have been waiting for this fight for 5 long years!
Plenty of places to watch it free whilst sipping ice cold very reasonably priced SMB..
Its on the telly here but it aint live as far as I know with 10 minute adverts between rounds.

I seen that only a small portion of tickets went to the public. The others went to promoters and TV channels

For the duration of the fight, the streets will empty and a great HUSH will descend, broken only by roosters.

Just been watching Ali on youtube. I saw a lot of his fights back then but not the Sonny Liston ones.

In his earlier years he was such an agile boxer for a heavyweight.

Watched a couple of his bouts against Our 'Enry. Jab jab jab, yeah yeah yeah, great smell of brut, splash it on all over! :D
