Done a little exercise with current stats for May 2014 by Country (PDF attached) and guess what? All the Philippine Settlement Visa Applications come last and rank the lowest priority out of 11 Country's so far with more Country's to transition to the Manila Hub (UKVI) by September 2014?? Everything migrating to visa processing hub by September 2014. UK will look after America, Europe & Africa with the Philippine Hub in Manila processing the rest by deadline. I can imagine the Chaos and delays, but that's exactly what the British Government want to get their Settlement Stats down right? https://anc.yahoo.com/video/uk-manila-visa-processing-hub-104807017.html What is everybody's experience of their Settlement Visa from date of Biometrics? Finally, off topic the English Government have decided Philippines mainly because it is the Third English speaking Country in the world apparently, so why not add Philippines on the exclusion list having to take a ridiculous English test, more time delays and money. Its all about the stats !!!
It is all about money.......... Especially what Mr Zubin Karkaria can get out of his company VFS Global........... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VFS_Global Everything is outsourced today, so in their mind one huge, or not, processing centre is adequate
Many Filipinos can speak English to some extent but it's not English as we know it! Unless they have a degree in English, they are often prepositionally-challenged as there is only one preposition in Filipino and it translates to "on". And Filipinos are often very shy to practice their English with western English-speakers - it's all about "face". However the English test should be either be done away with or applied equally to non-English speakers from the EU.
My wife didn't do biometrics - no need. She applied in 2011. Is there a voting option for her circumstances?
I didn't realise that Manila processed visas for twelve other countries in the region, the statistics didn't make for good reading that Andy provided either. We have been waiting to hear the result of our visa application now for about six weeks and I anticipate waiting at least another six weeks before hearing anything as the loved one was told that it could be three months before we heard anything. So getting the result before that time will be a bonus, that's the way I'm looking at it anyway
I abhor the fact that the decision is not made by a British citizen. It really annoyed me in Dubai when I went with the loved one to the British Consulate on her second and unsuccessful visit visa application and there was not a Brit in sight, Indians were taking care of things there. There really needs to be more clarity all round on this visa application business, I would really like to know what goes on during the process, I would personally love to follow one visa application through from start to finish as I think it would be a real eye opener for us all at BF.
I don't like the word corruption, especially when our application is in Cant trust these people as far as you can throw them, no excuse for corruption, doesn't matter whether you're rich or poor, you know when you're doing wrong, regardless of background, that's what my maths teacher always used to say to me and its true.
Yes. Theres probably a few propping up the desk legs and stuff like that or being made into reefas and stuff like that while they all party party party. : D
Yes, didn't like the woman in the video clip either, she's out of fashion as she is still talking where her voice goes up at the end of a sentence, that's always bugged me
Just joking. Am sure its not quite as bad as that in there. When we visited the embassy it was all very straight laced. And they dealt with us politely and helpfully. So hopefully the visa section is run in the same way.
