My loved one is looking for somewhere to live in Cebu City. Anyone any ideas on where to search on-line for rented accommodation? Preferably somewhere which is likely to have a good internet connection, so that I can work on-line when I am there, later this year. A place with two bedrooms and downstairs toilet are required.

Many thanks KeithAngel. I think my loved one is looking for something nearer the city centre as she works 10-14 hours per day, 7 days each week. She thinks she has found somewhere now.
Howerd. My wife and I live in a small apartment block in Mandaue. One of the apts. is shortly to become vacant. Two bedroom, single storey, very safe and secure. P8,000 Al.:england:
TheTeach... My loved one says she has found somewhere just a few steps away from where her granny lives at 9,000 Pesos/month. I have no idea how far that is away from Mandaue City though - I have only been to Philippines once and that was on Mactan Island. When you say 'single storey' does that mean it is on the ground floor or everything is on one upper floor? I will be going to Philippines later this year and as I am disabled it would help if I don't have to climb steps!
All I really know is that it is called "Network Marketing" and she works 10-14 hours/day, 7 days per week; she is a school teacher by training, but when she separated from her husband she had to find a better-paying job. When she comes to UK she wants to do the same work as me (telephone market research) until she can find work/a career that interests her.
to my knowledge, Network Marketing would the the same kind of thing as "Kleeneze" distributors. It's very hard and I can understand why she needs to pull the long hours. Another site you may want to try is islandsproperties dot com ... the only problem is, they do tend to inflate the prices a tad.
bigtom... Yes, the company is organised on similar lines to Kleeneze - people higher up the chain recruit others and commission is earned along the chain. But her work does not involve going door-to-door. She does now have a place to live, thanks.
I'm looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in or near Cebu City for a few months. Any suggestions where I should look?
I'm open-minded at the moment but preferably within an hour's drive of Cebu City. Duration? Ideally I'd prefer not to be tied down in case plans change but 3 or 4 months to start with.
Balamban that I posted about on this thread is about an hour by car or 90 mins v hire (120 peso)or bus (70 peso) depends what you want in terms of lifestyle. This is what i rented for 10,000peso a month in Oct 2010 for a year we know the owner very well missus on facebook two bed two aircon fully furnished about 2000 a month lecy 150 a month water cable pay monthly (cheap) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2bX1VXPdkc outside http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0uiS64exB8
Thanks Keith. That looks really great, especially being 2 minutes from the sea but unfortunately it's a bit too far from Cebu City for me. Any other suggestions anyone?
Jim I would in the absence of any ideas here post on living in cebu forum with your enquirey there is no shortage of apartments in Cebu however to get the one you want for a fair price involves either some local help or being prepared to hotel it to begin and then research when you arrive. Doesnt your good lady live there? Cold contacts will tend to want 6 months contracts and to arrangr in advance unseen can be fraught with problems unless you know the folk. You could also contact cebuexpats google Paul and Elsa Whiteway are to be trusted in what they say
Any particular reason you're specifying Cebu City, the second most expensive metropolitan area after Manila? You're going to need to be a bit firmer with your plans. Almost all house/apartment rentals are for 12 months' duration although some landlords will agree to a six month rental but may charge more for that. If you want to remain flexible then a condotel may be appropriate and there are several dotted around Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu costing around £500 per month. By comparison, you will be unlikely to find a furnished 3 bedroom house in a nice sub-division for less than double that amount. I'd venture to suggest that you do not rent a property unseen from the internet and not only because of the lack of "truth in advertising" laws. If you're prepared to put the leg-work in, you'll find properties by simply touring around and looking for "For Rent" signs and, to avoid long nose tax, it should be your mahal that approaches the owners for the rental price whilst you're out of sight.
This is very good advice. Indeed I would go further; look at some places together and point out what you like, but don't take any of them, then leave your partner to find and negotiate for somewhere. Long nose tax is very expensive.
