On my next leave we're looking at spending a couple of nights in Manila. Usually we stay in the Intercontinetal in Makati but it been going down hill the last few times we've stayed there and feel its not worth the cost even though it is in a great location for us.

Anyway I'm getting a couple of medicals for work and they are in the Malate area so I'm wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a hotel (4 or 5*) and places to eat at or near the Mall of asia.

    Thanks

I think the Hyatt which is close to the junction of Pedro Gil and MH Del Pilar in Malate would be the closest.

Ignore that, just looked on google maps. Its not far from the Mall of Asia at all. Shoes how long it is since we where there! Is it ok to walk there to and from the hotel at night and evening?

I would have thought it would be reasonably safe to walk between the Hyatt and MoA along the Boardwalk.

Ta. See what my company say now, if they'll pay for it or not!

So it looks like the company has agreed to pay for the Hyatt. Any recommendations for resturants in the Mall of Asia anyone?

There used to be a really excellent Italian in the Hyatt. This is very out of date info, though.

Last time we were in the hyatt it was a french style and chinese resturants, both very good but both v expensive. Just fancy something outside the hotel that doesn't bang on nearly 30% in taxes on the bill!
