yesterday afternoon--i went outside for a few minutes ---through the front door ( back door was locked ). when i tried to get back in--the front door was locked. now--this isnt a self locking rim latch--they can be a real pain in the bum. no--its a multi point system that can only be locked by a key....which was on the inside. i realised my wife had locked the door --not realising i was outside. i knocked on the door--no response--i banged on the door--still nothing. she couldnt have gone out herself--and locked it from the outside--she would have had to walk past me. repeated knocking--nothing. i was getting worried by now. after me hammering and banging on the door--and shouting through an open window--she unlocked the door. what followed quickly descended into a farce. she yelled at me for all the racket i was making--i said she had locked me out--she flatly denied it--saying she was upstairs trying some kit on she had bought. she said i must have locked myself out--i pointed to the key in the lock on the INSIDE---that meant nothing to her--she insisted i had done it. with that i was accused of calling her a liar--and nothing i could do would make her see reason. early to bed for her. this morning--fine--no mention of it. pinay wives eh.
Nice to see that other husbands are suffering from a "I-am-never-wrong-and-I-won't-apologise" face-saving stance of Filipina-wives . I don't feel so alone anymore
thats exactly what it was--and i have seen it before. no point arguing--just makes it worse. how do you other guys handle it ?
far too old for that. ive got a spare key hidden away for the back door. its just that i wasnt expecting this denial that she had accidentally locked me out. normally if she makes a mistake like that she would be almost over apologetic.. but to insist i had locked myself out--knowing full well the key was on the inside--and she had to turn it to let me in--was just a farce.
For some strange reason, I do not leave the pad without my keys............ I may forget the mobile sometime, but not the keys.
i'm paranoid about keys--and getting locked out. the last flat i rented--3rd floor flat--one entrance door: the door lock was totally stupid--if it slammed shut--it was deadlocked--key needed to get back in. the agent charged a hefty call out fee to come out with his spare.
I'll believe you, Florge, but thousands wouldn't Nice to see you on here again BTW, and hope you and your family are well.
