Apologies. aposhark said he has Scottish heritage so I kind of went into that direction. My family name was Irish-originally, but my closest ancestors from the father's-side are all Englishmen. And yes they are aristocratic snobs. Posh English and all that. lol. I attended a St.Patrick's Day party in Australia hosted by Irish immigrants and descendants. I got invited because my Irish friends were intrigued by my surname. I was the only Asian-looking among the heap. Hahahhaha...
No need to apologise mate we go off topic all the time, I think Apo was just saying that he had been up in Scotland on work, don't think he's got Scottish roots?
My wife was fine with the plural but failed miserably with the singular Hippopotamus was easy for her as well.
That's true. When I first arrived, I struggled nderstanding my in-laws who are so Mancunian with... innit? Lol... as time pass, and I started working, my ears got used to it and other English accents as well.. but I still struggle with thick Scottish accent.. This brings me to one phone call I have to assist today. One of our scottish engineers phoned and wanted to speak to his scheduler.. and I cant understand a thing.. i just told him that the line is really bad and cant hear him properly.. and that i'll phone him instead but asked another colleague to do it for me..lol
