Pinoy Netizens weren’t able to contain their excitement as they raved about how Manila streets “starred” in the second theatrical trailer of the upcoming Hollywood film “The Bourne Legacy.” Four months since the first one was released, the newest teaser finally gave a glimpse of what the cast and crew filmed in the country early this year. A scene from the trailer showed an action-packed motorcycle chase with lead star Jeremy Renner in a typically congested Manila highway, complete with crashing Jeepneys and taxis. More, the American action spy film showed Renner jumping roofs of closely situated houses and treading fat electrical wires with the Manila skyline in the background. Then, in the teaser’s last portion, Renner was seen doing hand-to-hand combat in a small alleyway with uniformed Pinoy policemen to save lead actress Rachel Weisz. Although the country’s appearance in the trailer was quite shorter compared to the other locations, Pinoy nevertheless felt mighty proud that Manila finally had an exposure in such a widely renowned film. Film critic Phil Dy (@faithlessphil) went as far as saying that the film already deserves an Oscar award just for doing the “impossible” car chase. “A high speed car chase in Manila? Give them an Oscar now. They've done the impossible he wrote. Saw the jeepneys, streets of manila and.. squaters area.... lol,” said she. TV host Ginger Conejero (@gingerconejero) posted, “New trailer of ‘Bourne Legacy’ is out...w Manila scenes!!! Pretty cool.” Netizen JR Concepcion (@jr_concepcion), on the other hand, alluded to the increasingly popular Department of Tourism slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines” and said, ”‘Bourne Legacy’ find action more fun in the Philippines.” Kat Ignacio (@katignacio) vowed, “Definitely won't miss ‘The Bourne Legacy’ this coming August 3. I can smell Manila from the trailer.” As of this writing the tag “Bourne Legacy” is on the fourth spot of the top trending Twitter topics locally. “The Bourne Legacy” starring Renner, Weisz and Edward Norton is set to premiere Aug. 3 this year. I enjoyed all the previous "Bourne" films. Hopefully this latest one will be just as thrilling and entertaining. Anyways, it has an added interest
I reckon this will be as good as the previous Bourne films! Jeremy Renner is a very capable actor who in many ways is like an American Daniel Craig, good looking bloke but also a little rough looking - believable as a man who can kill..
