http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23662668 "The Labour Party has become embroiled in a row with two of the UK's biggest retailers over claims they favoured Eastern European workers over Britons." This is why politicians from all sides deserve contempt because they are two faced hypocrites, they lie, spin and generally are economical with the truth. For Labour to lecture about immigration is truly breathtaking, don't they realise what fools they look? But the story does highlight a problem with recruiting. For Next to have to resort to looking for Poles to fill vacancies shows either: 1. Next are advertising for staff in the wrong place 2. "British" people just don't want to do hard, menial work for minimum wage. ....and so our Polish friends get the blame, as usual, and nothing changes, politicians peddle the same rubbish time after time, its all blame, blame, blame. No one seems to have the slightest idea do they?
The fact is, there are a lot of people who play the system. Get their rent paid for by the state, get a car (mobility allowance) and then about £100+ each week. If you were to add the totals of this amount up plus the income tax and national insurance, these people would need to earn £300+ to be better off. And so they choose not to work due to having "pains" and what not. Now, don't get me wrong there are plenty of real and justified members of society on benefits because they truly need them, but we need to make it a safety net and not a way of life. Then Brits will get back to work!
