I bought some Talisker last year when we did our tour of Scotland it was over£50 for the bottle.

i tend to drink tesco special reserve scotch--as good as any blended i reckon; but i usually mix it anyway--so it could be anything.

ive come completely off the cheap white cider--my main daily fix for years. I think thats helped my lose weight more than any diet.

Nearly May and still not heard a damn thing. Disgraceful really considering the massive cost.. I was wondering whether you had any news on your ilr yet @Mattecube?

I spent 6/7 years solid living in Aberdeen and never once got to visit a distillery of which there are a large number up there. The closest I got to visiting a good whiskey distillery was one in Northen Ireland, the Bushmills distillery, however we arrived just as they were closing.

Still nothing from UKVI after 6 months. I rang up their helpline today. What a joke. I was on hold for an hour waiting for someone to pick up and when they did pick up they couldn't tell my anything about my application and said they tried to process applications within 6 months but there might be delays - but then couldn't tell me anything about the delays. To cap it all they then hung up on me in the middle of the call. I was not happy. I have filed a complaint with the home office.

appalling service. i did my wifes' ILR application last week--and paid the extra £800 for priority--next working day after her biometrics which is booked for june the 29th.

i will be sooo relieved when all this is over.

Reports have suggested that applications made during December/January have hit a Home Office bottleneck and many are delayed without explanation.

Last week, I paid for our FLR 2 application and it reminded me what a stressful experience this can be. I'll be looking forward to the day we can forget about these UKVI applications so I have my fingers crossed your ILR will be processed pronto.

The cynical side of me blames this for any delays.

At present there are some 300000 plus EU applications waiting to be processed and must be done by July 1st (Brexit agreement t) to avoid another Windrush type situation so the HO might be prioritising this group before non EU applications.

Well done. We also were all notified successful and received our final indefinite leave to remain brp in the post on the 17th June 2021.
Thus ends a 5 year journey filled with expensive paperwork. Gosh.

Thanks.. We've all learned a bit along the way..

I always thought the occasion would be marked by a celebration but its felt strangely muted really. Think we are just all tired. Am just glad to get it done and get UKVI out of my life.

So we were not the only ones with a feeling of " that's it then" deflation!?

Thats interesting..its how i felt..and my wife seems unconcerned..as if it was a foregone conclusion.

I remember her last words to me when she went into heathrow in august 2012..when her student visa ended..."get me back".....

And what a journey that has been.. the 5 year route had just come in to force the month before..all new rules to deal with..and i had no clue what lay ahead of me.

2 divorces..a refused visit visa then a successful one meant we were together again for 6 months. An annulment lasting a year..then she caught TB which took 7 months to clear. So that delayed her fiancee visa application by 2years.

Selling my house to free up capital to meet the finanial requirement. Renting for 6months...which dragged on for 33 months..at £600+ a month..

Finally she was here again in feb 2016...just a month after my dad had died..so they never did meet.
Marriage..followed by a quick 1st FLR on the day at UKVI croydon ( crazy day that was) ..then soon after my operation and recovery took a few weeks

Buying the house ive got now 5 years ago..good decision.

2nd FLR november 2018..easy and quick result

    Covid..what happened in 2020 ?

My anxiety about her LITUK test this year..another crazy day

ILR application in june..we opted for super priority as i couldnt face another 6 months wait for the result

And here we are..10 years later..and about £50 grand lighter.

Still on waiting game here.:cry::cry: We applied 16th of March 2021 yet haven't received any news from the HO. However, my friend from London applied on the 25th of June and received her ILR visa yesterday. Someone must've been lucky :)

Hang in there, it is a tough wait at present it looks to be about 16 to 18 weeks processing suggests you may get a result later this month. Hang on in there and good luck
