Or in short, the day China got HK back way back in 1997.

I still remember the handover ceremony on TV.

Hong Kong for me holds special memories as it was there I met Elsa, and like marmite, HK is a place you either love or hate. I love the place, its so vibrant, alive, colourful. If I had the money, I'd live there. Having visited the place so many times, I never tire of the place.

The Gorillaz wrote a song about the place, its such a beautiful song...

I remember that too, quite a moving ceremony, I loved the way they played us out with a modern day classic bagpipe piece "Highland Cathedral" it was the anthem of the Royal Hong Kong Police.

I don't hark after our colonial history but I suspect we did a lot of good in Hong Kong, I have never been there but I would really love to see it one day.
