Immigration Lawyer's advisable or not?

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone had experience in appointing an Immigration Lawyer to help with a spousal visa? From what I've been reading on the forum, most people do the process themselves. I wanted to ask what people think who have used a lawyer?

Your feedback will be more than welcomed.

I haven't tried using an immigration lawyer as it's not really necessary. I will just share my friend's experience. She hired an immigration lawyer yet her first application was still refused. Thus, on her second application, she did it herself and the visa was approved.

In my opinion, it is always best to make an application without the help of an immigration lawyer. Instead of spending the money for the lawyer, it would be wiser to spend it on the visa fees if you want to speed up your application.

I believe a lot of people here in this forum can give you information you need if you plan to do it yourself.

if your application is complicated--or you feel you would prefer to use an agent--then go ahead.

if your application is straightforward--well the money spent could have paid most of the visa fee.

    its your call.

    This.

Immigration lawyers are expensive. Only use them if you have a complicated case.

They'll still follow the procedure and it doesn't really guarantee you'll be able to get your visa.
Just that they already know the documents and steps needed for it.

It is expensive to get one. There will be a lot more expenses to come after the visa so my practical opinion is do not get one not unless your situation is complicated.

Some people got their visas without the help of an immigration lawyer. I was once quoted with PHP50K. LOL. Too much!
If your application is not that complicated, you can do it on your own. Just make sure to do your research.

Surev!samanila quoted 75k per application. No way!

Good things come to those who wait but better things comes to those who work hard for it. :)

LOL. Quite expensive! That's almost the visa fee. I totally agree with good things come those who wait, but sometimes impatience takes over. LOL. Getting anxious with this waiting game. :blackeye:

If Mags and I did it ourselves, you can.
