    Hi Everyone,

My Wife has just received her ILR today, she seems to think that the FLR needs to be returned. I have checked thoroughly the documentation that came with it and there is no mention on them. I also checked the Home Office website, but trying to find anything on there is a challenge.

    All replies gratefully received,

    Sateev.

When your BRP card has expired you should return it to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). You do not need to do this when your BRP card is still before its Valid Until date, unless you receive specific instructions from UKVI asking you to do this.
If you are returning the BRP from within the UK then please send it to: BRP Returns, P.O. Box 195, Bristol, BS20 1BT. If you are returning the BRP from outside of the UK please send it to: BRP Returns, Home Office, Conference House, Conference Avenue, Portishead Office Park, Portishead, Bristol. BS20 7LZ.

    Hi Mattecube,

Thank you very much for your reply, I noticed that the ILR has an expiry date, do you or anybody else know how much it costs to update it please?

    Thanks Again,

    Sateev.

Hi the expiry is probably dated 2024 is that what you see? By 2024 the UKGOV are looking to have a system in place that your residence status can be checked on line using such as a national insurance number or passport number, thus removing the card system for ILR status holders, if you become a British Citizen then your a Brit!

You dont extend ILR,once you have it you have it, in theory you are at the end of the visa journey with ILR as you have indefinite leave to remain in this country.

    Hi Mattecube,
That is true but what I have seen on the Homeoffice website is that like a driving Licence the physical card has to be replaced, your right to stay does not alter but you have to replace the card. However with the rules changing after 2024 hopefully this will not be necessary.

You appear now to of moved the question on a bit from your original question about the cost of extending ILR which there is none as once you have ILR as I said previously you have it unless you do something very naughty and it gets revoked but from what Ive read you have to be really naughty I am sure your not or will be!
The way the system of identifies ILR holders is being targeted for implementation by 2024 not any rule changes
A s i understand it all new successes on ILR applications have a valid to date of 2024 certainly my wifes and daughters did have but we have moved on with my wife to her gaining BC and the daughter can apply for BC in May this year.
I think renewal refers now to lost stolen or damaged and I think its in the region of £150 to replace. What dates on your card?

    Hi Mattecube,

You are right one question led to another, I saw the expiry date and wondered how much it would be that the Government wanted to take from me again after I thought they had taken enough :)

We will go for BC but just wanted to find out the cost. Thanks for all your help, it is most appreciated.

    The expiration date is 31.12.24

    Thanks again.

    Sateev.

I can't see much info on site regarding FLR(M) so I'll chuck a couple of questions out here and hope they get noticed. Just started getting the wife's FLR(M) and plan to submit it just after 22 April. While doing the Gov on line paperwork and reading info on line I have a few questions already. I did read somewhere, but can't find that web page, that scanned docs should be in black and white not in colour, I guess this to make files smaller?
Also, that any docs downloaded must be "originals", surely once scanned and uploaded they are no longer originals but become copies?
Gathering together proof that we are living together throws up more questions, we are pretty short on having any correspondence addressed to Mr & Mrs W together so most of address proof comes as mail sent to either Mr W or Mrs W individually to house where we live (we are living with my mother whom we care for and she is responsible for all expenses so all bills/rates/mail is sent in her name). In the effort to sort this out I have gathered enough mail sent to us which I can submit, question is can I submit too much?

    Hi
Scanned documents just scan them as they are, we did and have never had any comeback
Yes send originals like you say once scanned they become copies but UKBA have copies of originals not copies of copies
Letters and correspondence this day and age of e mails etc always very hard to give them exactly what they want i think guidelines are if addressed to MR &Mrs its 6 if separate its double ie 6 for you 6 for wife so send about 12 to 15 we had some for her some for me and some for both of us 12 in total over last couple of years.
Hope this helps and good luck

Cheers for help Mattecube, now my next thing I've stumbled on whilst doing the FLR online - probably just down to my lack of understanding of legal jargon. In section 4 Other Documents, I am willing to supply "Any relevant declarations or third party consent to request verification checks" Of course I'd be happy to supply if I had a clue what they want?

They are asking you to generally authorise them to be able to approach your 3rd parties if required ie bank for information you just sign it.

Ah-ha.....a bit further into application they give you a link to print off and sign Consent for the home Office to verify application, third party info and sponsor. You're always quick to reply and on the ball, really do appreciate you being here and answering.

Getting ready to download docs for wife's FLR (M). When it comes to passports do we have to download every page or just the first two?

We downloaded first 2 and any pages with immigration stamps on that correspond date wise since last visa application.

Hi Sateev, congrats for your wife's ILR decision. How long did your wife got it? Still waiting for mine, it says it may take up to 6mos. I hope it won't be longer by then. Thanks in advance.

Hi JSP, we applied 11th October, then had the Biometric Appt on 1st November, ILR arrived March 5th, however I have friends that are still waiting that applied only a few weeks later, they are being told that the Ukrainian Refugees are taking priority and as such everything else is delayed.
