You will have to pay the NHS surcharge before you submit the visa application, take a look at the links below, they will tell you how much you have to pay and when; https://www.immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk/checker/type https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/overview
has anyone NOT--NOT--had to pay for what we call a fiancee visa-? i.e--a settlement visa--for the purpose of marriage.
@Methersgate didn't pay, well he did initially because he selected the wrong visa type but he got his money back I think.
Only those folks applying for a visa with expiry 6 months or more need to pay the NHS surcharge. The 'Fiancee Visa' is max 6 months so no NHS surcharge payment. But don't worry bigmac, they'll get it after you get married and apply for FLR(M)
Correct. VFS advised that we should pay the IHS because we had incorrectly applied as Unmarried Partner. The mechanism for paying is that you start a new application, pay the IHS and give the IHS payment reference to Manila Deferrals. It was refunded when the visa application was recoded.
ha ha--good start ! ive never known such a frustrating process--2 people--half the world apart--trying to fill out an online form. i think the pub beckons
Ha Ha, I think a lot of people on the forum will know exactly where you are coming from bigmac, it is a pain in the back side getting the visa application to a point where you are happy to submit. Remember to read through the application and double check everything before you submit, I found a couple of small mistakes by doing this.
what i still dont understand is--when the online form is completed--and submitted----does it then generate a printable filled out copy for her to take to VFS---or does she print a empty vaf application form--and fill it all in by hand ? or am i being thick ?
You can print it off and take it with you if you like, its the financial form (VAF4a2) you fill out long hand. Remember to book the VFS appointment and pay for the premium submission service which also includes the courier service for when the decision has been made.
