ihs payment

    the gov.uk site is always saying
    Sorry, we are experiencing technical problems.
    Sign in to your application and try again. when trying to get IHS is this only way you can get the ihs as i been waiting since sunday to pay this as all i am needing now so annoying waiting
    and how does this service work u pay straight away or u can pay with visa as i be paying for my wife and as im always working she can check see if website up and running and if just have get number and can pay later date then i get my wife check next few days

    I realise how frustrating it must be for you, I had a problems when I came to pay the visa fee online.

    You would have thought that UK Government websites would be well maintained and operated but it doesn't appear to be the case.

    Just keep trying and hope for the best.

    @shaunilvs You have to pay for everything just after you press that submit button. Best to be prepared with all your debit/credit cards but they charge extra for payment by credit card.

    i thought you had to pay by credit card. glad to hear debit cards can be used

    Oh, I may be wrong about the fee for credit card. But having to pay in dollars meant I did not want to use my credit card as it would charge commission on the exchange rate. So I used a debit card with no commission charges.

    I think they still make money off the transaction by giving a really poor exchange rate, that's what I seem to remember.

    i think its outrageous we have to pay in dollars. rule Brittania and all that crap.

    Yes, a poor exchange rate given by the British Government, so I don't want to compound that with a poor rate on the card. Cards typically load the rate buy about 3% - but a few do not. I have an Aqua Credit card and a Nationwide Flexplus Card that has 0% loading on the Mastercard and Visa rate respectively.
