Hi everyone. Anyone here who applied for a fiancee visa with a dependent child? I am doing an application online for my 5-year old child. I noticed in her application, there are additional sections like BRP and IHS. From what i have read from older posts, the child of a fiancee doesn't need to pay for IHS just like the mother. I have done the BRP section although I was a bit hesitant on filling it in. Haven't done the booking yet but I just want to get ready for the IHS section. Is there a way that I can skip or won't need to pay that to complete the visa application online process?

just follow whatever the online application tells you to do. if it says pay IHS--then you have to. on the "fiancee" online apllication--the IHS fee is not listed.

No...if the online app lists ihs payment then it is required. Hopefully others who have gone through this process will respond.

Check what you are filling in; are you sure that you are completing the "Marriage Settlement Visa" application ?

We made a mistake and completed the "Unmarried partner" application having missed the drop down menu for "Marriage Settlement Visa" so we were asked to pay IHS on my stepson. It was refunded.

You should not have to pay IHS on the "Marriage Settlement Visa" either for your fiancée or her child.

Thanks Methersgate..I was really hoping you'd bump into my post, knowing that u applied for your now wife and stepson for their visa before. My visa route is settlement- settlement- marriage. And didn'r encounter the BRP and IHS sections in my online app. While for my daughter, the visa roite I chose for her is settlement- settlement- child or dependent of someone settled in UK. Did I make the right visa route for her or not?

Very interested in this. @Methersgate......so..is the child's visa for 6 months only if applied for with a settlement marriage visa ?

    Can @ChoiAndJohn comment?

Yes, it is. Corina and Krian both arrived on six months visas and both had to apply for FLR(M) at which point we had to pay £500 each for IHS.

@ChoiAndJohn are a different case because @BlueberryCheeseCake arrived on a spouse visa.

The child visa expires when the adult visa does. In my case, since @BlueberryCheeseCake came on a spouse visa, that worked out to be 30 month visa for her and for the kids.

so--a dependant child accompanying a fiancee will be liable for 2 FLR fees--whereas a child coming over to join a parent already here on flr gets a 30 month will only be liable for one FLR--which will save £811 flr fee.

this is what we are planning for Nida's son next year.

or have i got that wrong ?

that's right. In a similar way to the way that a spouse also saves a visa fee for herself by not be bothering with the marriage visa (fiancee) route.

Sorry but that is not correct:

The IHS is not charged on visas for six months or less, so neither a fiancée (Corina, in our case) nor her accompanying child (Krian, in our case) pays any IHS on the fiancée visa or on the "child accompanying parent" visa, both of which are valid for six months.

On applying for FLR(M) for both parent and accompanying child, 30 months IHS is payable ie £500 each.

Hi again.. I just played with the online visa application, turned out, I think I made a wrong visa route for my daughter. I tried the settlement-settlement- marriage for her (same as mine) and didn't see the BRP and IHS sections anymore. There is still the section for below 18 ( so obviously she's not the one who's getting married) and in the Sponsor's detail part, there is a section about the Sponsor's partner's detail..(that's me). If I am the father/mother of the appkicant... so I guess, that's the right visa route fir her..I hope. Will try to make a new application for her tomorrow.

hi Andrew no I wasn't talking about the IHS. The question referred to a visa application fee being saved.

I submitted a wrong visa category for my daughter. I lodged in settlement-marriage instead of settlement-child..Now we're trying to make a correction by contacting UKVI...I have already submitted my daughter's info for escalation of her case..I hope everything turns out ok...

@Methersgate , Can u please post/send me the email address of the Manila Deferal? Thanks...

We just finished the online application and I also noticed the BRP and IHS section for my son but we proceeded with that. Anyways, we paid nothing for the IHS. Just received an email for IHS reference number.
