Is this applicable for child dependant visa applicants?

Who does not need to pay or get an IHS reference number
You’ll be able to use the NHS without paying the surcharge or getting a reference number if:

    • you’re applying for indefinite leave to enter or remain

If no, how much is IHS fee please.

    Thanks x

I just applied for my child settlement visa but I did not pay for ihs. When you apply online they will asked you a series of question wether you need to pay or not. During my online application I would have paid 2000US dollar but for some reason I was exempted.

They catch up with you for the fee for some reason they don't ask for it at application stage but they will at some point.

Hi..just curious if they have prompted u yet to pay for your Child's IHS... I just applied for my daughter's and didn't ask for payment either, while I paid mine for £1,405.. For a 2 yrs and 5 months visa route, i feel like I should complain as I was expecting to pay only a bit more than £1,000 (including exchange rates).

Hello. No when I applied it took me to a different website to pay but it says I need to pay £0.00. I have applied a resident visa for my daughter. Still patiently waiting for decision.

Oh my friend’s 2 kids were here and they were both granted a settlement visa and she also did not pay for IHS.

Did your friend's kids just arrive? Or has it been years? Well that's a good news not needing to pay the IHS for the child...but I would still reserve that amount in my bank account just in case..
Hope u get your daughter's visa soon. Goodluck to us. And thanks for the reply.

Only scenario I can think of where they are exempt is when the mother has ILR and in that case if I remember correctly the child qualifies for ILR when visa is granted. If child has ILR status then there is no IHS charge.

And yes in my own experience they do chase for payment and in the chase email state that there is a bug in the system where the system incorrectly calculates cost at zero.

can you clarify that ? do you mean if the mother is settled--ILR or citizenship--then a dependent child goes straight to ILR. what visa fee would be payable ? this directly affects me.

My friend is a british citizen now and she applied for ILR for her 2 kids they were here now. Both kids have ILR Visas. We are the same case I paid £0.00 but after the payment they will give you ihs reference number.

The immigration rules have a category for indefinite leave to enter. I remember reading about it but not yet had opportunity to look again for that section of the rules.

From my reading previously I believe it would be the standard visa fee but qualifing for indefinite leave to enter as opposed to limited leave to enter and then having to work through to indefinite leave to remain.

I have a vague recollection of reading this at some point but as it didn't or wasn't going to effect me at the time didn't research it however I think it works like this
Mother is about to be awarded ilr
Child is on the visa path
They can apply for child to "catch up" to mother at mother's ILR application ie they both get ILR status together.
As I say a vague recollection of reading about it sometime ago

When did you apply? I still haven't had any emails from HO for IHS payment for my son. We both applied spouse with dependant last July 5. I paid my IHS for $1596.

Hi..i just paid for my online application, my appointment at vfs is on 23rd of this month. I think we're on the same route, spouse with a dependant. I also paid the same IHS amount. I think we'll just have to wait for the HO to chase us for our kids' IHS, as we're both not on ILR just like @Rose1204...

Was it priority or standard? Yes we just have to wait and keep on checking email lol.
