    Well it's not me ;) :D

I did very well for many years and only got my first three points for speeding in late 2005 :( empty motorway doing 88 mph, definitely my own fault as I was normally very very sharp and careful at bridges. (Yes that's an irresponsible attitude :) I got caught, I was breaking the law)

At the time I owned this thing which was not conducive to retaining ones licence but I was generally very careful.

My old S in 2007 with Ana at Lunderston Bay.

The S is long gone now but I was fuming when I got caught last year on a quiet Sunday morning on my way up north. I had only just got rid of the previous three points :(

39 points and still driving is absolutely shocking!!!

when i lived in birmingham, i had a boss who should have had his licence revoked a few times over, but said that he needed his mercedes for work, and they were making it impossible for him to work if they remove his licence. He got to keep it in the end.

Only ever received 3 points but that was years and years ago.
Can't understand how come 39 points. It's a disgrace and makes an ***** of the law and those who apply it.
In the BBC article is says that this can happen in cases where disqualification would cause exceptional hardship, but that the same exceptional circumstances cannot be cited again and again. Makes you wonder.

Aromulus, you do have a highly suspicious mind ;)

    No offence.

    None taken....:like:

Twice, once in court, I argued that my Garmin 2610 satnav was showing a different speed at the time of the offence, and twice
my claim was dismissed. Although, at a different venue, was later admitted that speed cameras are not that reliable after all....

I also got 3 points for speeding in a zoned 50mph bit of the M4, even though it was 11pm, no traffic. Funny how a few months later that same camera was removed for causing accidents at the nearby motorway exit. I also got 3 points many years ago for speeding....on a moped. It was a 250cc moped, doing 49 in a 30 limit :erm:

My 3 points was for doing 34 mph in a 30 mph zone. I was looking at the cop holding his mobile camera and wondering what was going on, I just pipped over the limit.
Everyone told me I would OK as it was within acceptable limits. They were wrong.

I've still got the photo somewhere. :)

Co. Antrim and Co Down used to be my main playground, when I did travel to N. Ireland on business, but never had any problems.
A couple of my colleagues used to complain like hell, when they got fined for speeding, lucky that at the time that the driving Licences issued from Swansea, weren't
getting any points, for some strange reason, only a court appearance and fine.
One of the fellas, got done 3 times within 7 months.... In the usual spot..... Just out of Kells........... Straight piece of road, with the van visible for miles....
The silly sod used to slow down after he passed the 30 mile an hour sign.... Ka-ching............:erm:

Yeah ... it;s like that, but to be honest, in places like kells, most people are just driving their tractors :D
