I have signed up to this forum to help me understand a few things about the Filipino culture due to my work having me heavily involved with helping a lot of Filipino residents here in the UK and some back in the Phillipines!

I try to converse with many of them, they think its funny that my accent is a little too Spanish, so I wondered if any of you knew any websites or even people that are good at teaching the native language?

The other reason I have come on here is that, as I mentioned, I work with a lot of people who came here to seek a better life and in doing so went to the place where they thought they could trust and borrow money.

I want to know if you have had an experience with the banks when borrowing money for mortgages, loans or taking out credit cards and they have added the dreaded Payment Protection on to your credit. Many of the people who borrowed don't even know they were charged it however...help is at hand, have faith :D as despite all the negativity surrounding it, you have the right to try and get it back; also reply if you want to discuss this.

I will hopefully be able to provide you with regular news about the banking industry, and where to get help as well as have a good old moan about things here in the UK(I was born here and spend every minute moaning about it! :)

Anyway, be nice to speak to anyone who is here.

Whilst appreciating you being candid about double purpose in posting, I find that There is a blatant display of "PPI" Claim chasing here, and I cannot bring myself to welcome you aboard wholeheartedly yet, as your connection to the industry is more than evident, and in my opinion biased in favour of exploiting some of our not so knowledgeable members.

And although I have removed members from the forum for the same reason or worse, I am momentarily willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and see if you have any real connection to the Philippines or not.

"PPI" can be reclaimed from the banks and credit card companies freely and directly, and withouth charge to oneself.

This is true Aromulus, however, as an administrator, you should surely be aware that I have already discussed my dual purpose before registering here on the forum and have agreed to not spam my actual work, hence me not providing any links or contact details.

Feel free to remove me, but considering you are not filipino - yet connected by your partner, then I am sure you are aware that despite the resources available to the UK Filipino community, many of them are not doing this in the fear of not knowing what they are doing and the banks turning them away(which is a fact, whether you like that or not)...hence the reason I was willing to provide helpful info...not so now though after your welcome as your attempts to shoot down my efforts are only going to hinder the communities attempts to claim back what is rightfully theirs.

I have nothing to prove...I certainly expected a few negative views to which I will happily discuss.

Welcome to the forum, and while I appreciate your desire to help the UK Filipino community, but I hope you are aware that when it comes to money, there is plenty of advice available on the net, MoneySavingExpert is one for example, they have huge amounts of information, freely available for topics such as claiming missold PPI, getting a better credit card, etc.

Nobody is shooting down your efforts at all, your welcome to help the UK Filipino community, but if your intention is to spam the forum, you will not succeed.

The idea of this forum is free help.

When an eventual charge is asked for something, the "free" element in the equation is null and void.

If you are willing and able, to dispense Free advice, like we do on a regular basis here, without asking for nothing in return, you are, of course, welcome.

The only time we do plug for some money, is when we have our charity drive.

Feel free to come and go as you please, read the threads, digest the answers, look up what makes us tick, check out about Filipino culture and how we embraced it, sometime with a certain degree of difficulty, and you will see that no one here wants anything from anybody but to be able to help in some small way without asking for a thing.

Now would your fees be somewhere in the region of 20% should you be successfull in 'helping' your Filipino friends ??
There's been an awfull lot of advertising for PPI claims on TV of late which I'm sure everyone has seen ,including your potential friends/customers.
Would there be a big discount for these Filipino's as they seem to be your main focus, having said they are frightened to go to the banks directly and are therefore considered an easy target ?
BTW,..how is your accent considered a bit too ' Spanish ' for the Filipino ?

Like Aromulus I too hesitate to say anything as with your intro,.... 8 lines to introduce yourself,...16 lines to ply your trade as a PPI adviser ??

Is there any Filipino people on here or is it full of English that have nothing better to do than slate another for trying to help...have I plied the forum with spam? NO, have I supplied anyone with any contact details or names of companies, NO...I love your analytical skills too, maybe you should be a detective Jonny? However, have I mentioned fees? I mentioned I worked for a company, I also mentioned I was going to offer information to help, no mention of fees, your detective skills let you down just a little bit. Maybe you should be less sceptical and read whats in front of you instead of trying to read between the lines that are not there.

With that said, you can all go to hell anyway; the welcome I received was far from impressive - and treatment of another human being is nothing short of bullying by people with nothing better to do.

Thanks for opening my eyes to what potentially could have been a big mistake with wasting my valuable time and energy and to be fair I am happy with my decision to do nothing for anyone here.

Just to clarify, this user did contact me just before posting and here is my response to his mentioning of his duel reasoning.. I sent this before heading off to work and the above happened throughout that day (my access in work can be limiting).

Basically, if say a solicitor came on here who advised people to do this, this and then this on some immigration case, that would be valuable information and if the user wanted to then get further help from that solicitor to help with paperwork, then a PM or two to arrange official representation would be honest and above board. However, if someone needs help or information and the response is "contact me on such and such, and I will let you know my fees" then what use is that on a public forum?

Whenever I need info on a subject, I scour the internet and usually end up on some niche forum for my needs, often never joining as my interest might only span that one occasion. But at least the help is there, the information is out there in the public arena for Google to slurp up and let people find it.

So, to conclude.. If anyone has expertise in any area that can help people online. We are more than happy for you to assist people on this website. And proven members who are respected can include links to their own websites in their signature.

Heck, members can include links in their signature for whatever purpose if they are well known on here. So long as they don't link to nasties :D
