Tutorial How to post and start a thread

Hello and welcome to the forum. If you are new user you will have been directed here by the automated introductory message that was sent to you when you joined the forum. If you're new to forums and more specifically our Xenforo forum you may not yet be quite to grips with how to post within each of the sections of the forum, fear not, the process is quite easy and here are the instructions on how to post.

In order to make your first new post you will need to navigate to the "Forums" which is in between the "Home" and "Members" pages. In the "Forums" section you will see quite a list of different areas on where you can make a relevant posting. Posting in the correct area ensures that people will be looking in the right place when they are searching for something in particular.



In this example, assume I am also a new user. In this case the most appropriate place to post would be in the "Introduce Yourself" section as I wish to say hello to all the other members of the forum. The "Introduce Yourself" section has a short description immediately below it describing what the section contains and what is expected to be posted in that particular section, in this case it says, "New to the forum? Introduce yourself here". So we are in the right section, we now need to click the "Post New Thread" button.



After clicking the button you will be directed to the "Create Thread" page. A thread consists of a Title and Contents. So first things first, we would now start typing in the Title a relevant header to our thread .



Once you start to type your new thread Title you will see "Similar Threads" pop-up in between the Title and Contents of your thread. Don't concern yourself with this for the moment, "Similar Threads" aids searching and reduces duplication.


Next we need to write the Contents of our thread. Here we will be just saying hello of course but in future threads the more descriptive you are and if you provide as much information as you can, that will assist others who will be responding to your post. After you have created your thread, just click the "Create Thread" button. That's it! Easy right?
