May sound like a strange question, but have you met in person yet? That has to be the first step.

Hello steff. Welcome to BF. As a start, go to the UKVI site https://www.gov.uk/apply-uk-visa

And you might also want to read previous posts relating to your concern. http://british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/after-20-calendar-days.9294/page-3

Please be reminded that some of the documents submitted may be considered not necessary by others. My then fiancé and I submitted everything just to play safe. I got the visa 20 calendar days after submitting our papers at VFS.

Don't hesitate to ask questions here in the forum.

    Good luck. :)

My advice is not to go to an immigration solicitor. They will charg a lot of money and might not know the ins and outs of what is required in an application.

If you really feel want assistance it is best to use a reputable agency from here in the UK, or just go though it on here and people will help.

General opinion is probably to leave immigration solicitors out of the equation though.

If you do want to use an agency then people here (including myself) can point you in the right direction. It is mainly your boyfriend who will have to put the whole package together rather than yourself, as they want a lot of details on the sponsor.

It's entirely up to you if you want to seek advice from a solicitor but be prepared for the cost. Sorry I can't recommend you anyone because we did the visa application ourselves. Some might give their recommendations though.

If you follow the steps by first clicking "check if you need a visa" in the link https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y you will see links of the form you need to fill out. Make sure to click "Apply for a family of a settled person visa if your partner is British or settled in the UK and you wish to join them to live in the UK permanently."

I totally understand what you're going through. @Maharg is right, you're fiancé should have 100% involvement in your application since he will be your sponsor. The key here is study and understand the UKVI Rules.

    And a lot of patience....
