We have a big disappointment today. My fiance went to the CFO office to get her CFO sticker but because we had already started a online application they would not give it to her. We have now wasted almost 4 months of our VISA. How quickly is the online process?
Is it not worth considering visiting another country such as Malaya, Hong Kong as a visitor, then fly to the UK from there?
Can I fl are you saying that she was not allowed to attend a physical course and then get the certificate as she has started the online process? Or are you saying she has attended the physical course and because she has started the on line process they now won’t give her the certificate? or do you mean that because she has started the online process they won’t let her enrol for the physical course? i would of thought the online you sign up / in pick a date attend online then get certificate!
To confirm with Mattecube and as the wife recently went through it, you go online and select a date to attend the couple of hours talk, or select to complete the online option (my wife attended). She did have to wait around 4-5 weeks for the next slot. I think you’re saying they would not entertain her when she “walked in” because you had already selected the online option. They will not let you just turn up, you have to have an appointment. If you do not have your visa at the time of completing the briefing then you are allowed to just walk-in for the certificate when you get your passport/visa. They also do not give stickers any more, she will just receive an A4 printed certificate. I did post a couple of threads about our experience getting an appointment with CFO.

Yes, they are valid for 90 days. Her vignette was issued 16 May and expires 14 Aug. Today we collected her BRP so no more head ache until Feb 26 when we have to extend for the next 30 months
Sorry I was not more clear I was aiming the reply to the OP Dan888, In the opening post it was stated that they had wasted 4 months of the visa, so I did wonder if the vignette had expired, I would hate for them to sort everything else only to find the vignette had expired.
Hi yes if I’d known this could be done within 2 or 3 days I would never have booked the face to face meeting. My girlfriend got some misinformation from a friend that we shouldn’t have listened to. Fortunately I miscalculated how much time we have left on the visa, there is about 3 months left. We are in the UK now and starting the marriage process. I would definitely advise anyone to do the CFO online asap after you have received the visa, just make sure you have a reliable internet connection.
When my wife went for her CFO there was no online appointment.... People used to turn up at stupid o'clock in the morning and queued up until so many were let in.........
well i'm glad you still have time to get your wedding stuff sorted! i think we're just going to do the online appt as we're hoping to hear back by end of july (if we're lucky!) and travel in august reliable internet connection is debatable in the philippines but we'll do our best haha
Yup...... The only other requirements apart from having all the documents, was the couple of hundred PHP's fee, and a shed load of coins to operate the copier to copy all the doc with.........
