A test to see how OCD you are, provoked by how OCD I am.

    I have 999 ratings.

I don't know about you, but it's bugging the sh1t out of me. If you are an OCD sufferer, it will be bugging the sh1t out of you too. Come on buddy, scratch my itch!

I suffer mild OCD, but it only has one expression at the moment, every morning when I leave the flat and either walk to work or head for car, I often get ten yards from the flat and have to go back to make sure I have really locked the door, I can only avoid this by explicitly consciously telling myself that I am locking the door and consciously making a point of checking it is locked by pressing hard on the door, it is only the act of committing that thought to short term memory that will let me get away in one go without returning.

Been like that for about 6 years now :D

The thing is I hate the repetition and there are loads of other things where I really hate the fact that I know I am repeating things but not for OCD reasons, having worked for myself for 14 odd years every day was different, each day would start and end at a different time in a different way and I liked that.

Now it is always relentlessly the same routine every morning :(

    Ahhh! The sense of relief!

I have to count the things in my hands to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. A visual check won't do it. The total number of things must be 'right'. Climbing steps also involves counting. Falling asleep consists of numbering letters - A1, B2, C3 etc. Get it wrong and I start again and stay awake. Setting off in the car is also done by rote, and if anything is out of place in the car, so that in order to find it, I'd have to take my eyes off the road for a split-second, I get uneasy.

(***This last point has nothing to do with OCD, and everything to do with the stupidity of Spanish drivers.)

I sometimes count steps. I count the steps going upstairs even though I know how many there are having done it many times.

In work we have a walkway which is the entire length of the facttory. The walkway floor is concrete and as you know on large surface there is usually a break in the concrete for slight expansion. If I walk with a slightly brisk pace and hold my stride for slightly longer than I normally would I have seven paces between each line (break of concrete). The foot lands perfectly central to this line and I can even close my eyes which I then open on the 7th step to confirm my foot did indeed land central to the line.

Im not sure if it is OCD but it is freakin' weird :D
