    Hi,

Let's say with no issues on a application for a visa and it's granted, how long long from submittal to arrival in the uk?

    Thanks,

    Neil.

Neil. It can take anything, typically from just a couple of weeks to a good 3 months for the Spouse Visa. And its just a lottery on the elapsed time. Not predictable.

Also. Your wife will need a CFO visit.

Finally, she might want to savour a week or two at home, packing and saying good byes, before winging her way to the UK.

She will have to get clearance from the CFO. It may only take a day or maybe two. They will put a sticker in your wifes passport to denote she is clear to live the Philippines.

There are some threads on here on the CFO.....

The CFO id important. She can't travel without it. From when the visa is granted she has 30 days to travel. After that it becomes invalid.

The visa has a 3 month additional validity so you can sort your flights, etc out

Yes, introduced in April 2015, giving visa holders less leeway

First if not already done your wife will have to go to a CFO seminar then after the visa is in her passport she will need to go back to the CFO to get a sticker. She must know the full address of her residence in the UK as well as post code as they enter this into the system when picking up the sticker. My wife did not know our post code they sent her packing. Just to save you some time make sure she knows

30 days only? Gosh..:(This means...giving us very limited time to find good deals on airfare.

After all the efforts made by the pair of us and all visas etc obtained, I will be past caring on the cost of a flight IMO !

Guys a couple of you are slightly ahead of me and Juby we are submitting our documents next Tuesday be useful to keep in touch so we don't miss anything

I assume you are advised when your documents are ready for collection and then and only then do you get to know the result

You then have to attend CFO seminar and return to have these stickers put in your visa ( are they not issued on the day?)

You then have 30 days to travel

You then have 10 days to collect your biometric pack from the uk appointed post office

Anything I'm missing good luck to all

Sometimes they don't tell you the result and just tell you they have reached a decision. If you haven't paid for a courier in advance then you have to go and collect the result so that means an extra couple of days.
