Hope you all had a nice christmas and a happy new year. I join in this website and hope this will help me to process my visa as soon as possible. I live here in UK and married to an english man for almost two years. I came here using a fiancee settlement visa and after six months I applied for a spouse visa and I was granted for two years. And it seems the two years has gone so quick now I need to apply for a new visa but I am confuse, I don't know what to apply next. I can't put my head around in the UKBA website . I have done and passed the english language test, and the life in the UK test. Any one knows what visa that I need to apply next and the requirements? I would really appreciate your help. Many thanks.
Hello Grace, welcome here Hope you'll enjoy. So you came with Fiancee visa and then received approval for FLR(M) right? Firstly, be informed that your immigration journey will be under the 'old rules', not the new ones that became effective July 2012 That's what may be causing you confusion. (Don't worry the UKBA rules confuse everyone. Even UKBA) Anyway, this means that your next step is to apply for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) The qualifying period for ILR is 24 months living in UK as Spouse (this does not include any time under Fiancee Visa) The earliest you can apply for your ILR is 28 days before reaching the end of your 24 month qualifying period. You will need to submit that all important pass certificate for "Life in UK" test. The form you'll need is form SET(M) Take a look at the UKBA webpage called Completing application form SET(M) You'll find all the information you need and the forms and guides can be downloaded from the right-hand side of the webpage. Please review the application form and ask any questions that you need clarification on. Happy reading and good luck
Your welcome Grace. Please do review that UKBA link, and do also apply as early as you can. (28 days advance) Be prepared to wait a while.
Hi Grace. Good to hear that you are settling in OK. How do you like the food in the UK, do you still prefer the (native) Philippine food or do you like to try different tastes. How do you like: English Breakfast. Ham Sandwich (with mustard). Sunday Roast lamb dinner. Chicken Tikka Masala. Fish and Chips. Pizza Just curious...
Hello Dave_E, I don't mind the food here but yes, I still prefer the philippine food. I grow up in that way.
