I am not naive, I realize it goes on unabated all over the world, and invariably, every time I happen to read about it, I get in a rage and I could virtually maim some of those perps, severely, if they only were within grasp of my claws...:boxer:

I wish that jail sentences weren't so lenient, and only used to punish as opposed to rahabilitation............ As the latter doesn't work with this kind of vile scum,. Fact.

Every day, something crops up. It makes one wish for having the b"***rds castrated surgically, and lobotomized for good measure.

...and on the radio news this morning.

It was said that this particular vileness is confined to the Philippines, and does not occur in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, etc. Sic British men now jailed - tip of the iceberg I suspect.

But ... but ... but... Timothy Ford - the British paedophile mentioned in the BBC article - is serving a derisory sentence. Just eight and a half years and thanks to E legislation, he'll be released in about four years' time. Paedophiles should be executed, period.

As far as I can gather, rehabilitation doesn't work with this scum. Recidiveness runs at 99% for this particular sort of crime.
There is no way that a paedo should be released and be a certain danger to the public.
As i mentioned in an earlier post, although the death penalty could be used in case of child abduction and subsequent murder, I would advocate for surgical castration and lobotomy.

The reason why the Philippines leads the world in this hatefulness, with Britain Australasia and North America, is of course the use of the English language. As was said on the radio, the combination of poverty, high speed broadband and lax regulation creates a "perfect storm" for the abuse of children in front of webcams, very often by their own parents. Cebu and Angeles were identified as the places where this occurs most often and I would guess that may be because they already have a combination of adult girlie bars and excellent broadband.

    Fr Shay Cullen was interviewed.

It is very very nasty, but some parents seem to think that because their children are not physically harmed, or touched by the pederasts, "no harm is done to them". A 15 year old girl, now in a refuge, gave the lie to this.

There is an unfortunate tendency amongst many Filipino parents, more particularly no doubt in the poorer parts of society, to "sexualise" their children at a much earlier age than we do in Europe - little girls will practice "sexy dancing", be dressed in what I would call unsuitable clothes, and have lipstick and make up applied. This may be related to the national obsession with beauty pageants, or - and I do think this is likely - it may be that parents see a pretty daughter as a pension arrangement - she can make money and support them.

That sort of thing differs in degree, but not I think in kind, from tellling your children to fondle themselves in front of a webcam.

The obvious line of enquiry is "how is all this paid for?" Presumably the perverts use prepaid, anonymous, credit cards, but the abusing parents must have some way of collecting their ill-gotten cash?

The sad fact is that far too many Filipinos are involved in trafficking their children but the various agencies such as the Police and DSWD take no action against them. The US government is ashamed of the behaviour of some of its citizens - particularly the military - when they visit this country and gives big grants so that the foreigner sexual predators are apprehended and deported. This funding pays for specialist policing units headed by officers seconded from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) but they have no interest in investigating local traffickers; these units operate in Manila, Angeles and Cebu where most of this type of crime is committed.

Just over a year ago, a joint US-UK operation led to the closing-down of a major pornography and paedophilia web site ("Dreamboard") and the arrest of a number of Americans and Europeans closely involved with that site both within the US and in Cebu; the British Police has a list of around 60,000 UK-based users of that site who may well get an unwelcome knock on the door at 5am one fine morning.

One of the NGOs that works in this arena is the US-funded International Justice Mission and a few months ago, it was tipped-off that two Filipinas accompanied by a number of unrelated minors (all girls) would be arriving on a ferry from Bohol. The group was intercepted when the fast-craft docked and the young girls were "rescued" by DSWD before they could be trafficked to the Mango Avenue bars. The two middle-aged women who'd recruited them were arrested but not subsequently charged; bribes may well have been paid.

One way would be to use a credit card processing company that is based offshore, in Russia say. Once the payments have been made, the site owners would send a small percentage of the take to a local agent who pays the kids or their parents. The people who make the money - and a very great deal of it - are the operators of the site. The courts need to recognise that there is no restorative justice as far as the victims of this odious crime are concerned.

It's all very well for the Palace spokesperson to say that the government is tackling the problem and that the Department of Justice and NBI are involved. The first thing that needs to happen is for a complete clean sweep of the corrupt officials and law enforcers of Cebu who turn a blind eye to the crimes that are being committed in their bailiwick. But that requires strong local governance, something Cebu - and the city in particular - hasn't enjoyed for quite a few years.

Some may have moral objections but its not so long ago that Cebu had its own vigilantes who would warn criminals to leave town within three days or face sudden death. Rather than tackle the criminality the then Mayor, Tomy Osmena, hunted the vigilantes and drove them out of town.

The Torygraph is very specific as to location:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...cks-UK-led-Philippine-child-web-sex-ring.html

"Severe poverty has forced many children into prostitution or into working in so-called cybersex dens. Philippine police operations have focused their investigation on the impoverished village of Ibabao on Cebu island.

In September last year, a Filipino couple in their 30s were arrested in
Ibabao for forcing three children to engage in sex acts and charging up to $100 (£61) each to watch live-streaming over webcams.

As a result of that arrest, 12 other children were rescued and put in the care of government social workers."

But it's not just Ibabao, it's far more widespread than that. Ibabao isn't even the tip of the iceberg!

There is a member of this forum who can give more specific information because he has had cause to investigate it. I understand, for example, there's a school situated to the south of Cebu City where it is strongly suspected that one or more teachers may be complicit in recruiting children into this business. There are a number of internet cafes in Lapu-Lapu, Cordova and Minglanilla (to mention but three) which are involved in this trade.
