Tales of the casting couch have been legendary in Hollywood for decades. Any woman or man who has ever aspired to make it in Hollywood should have considered that pervy guys like Weinstein are part and parcel of the job. Hell, the closest I’ve been to Hollywood is having my picture taken next to the sign in Hollywood Hills and even I know this. This shock and outrage that such shenanigans have been taking place seems a bit false. Let’s face it, most actors and pop stars do not get famous on the basis of their talent. Sex appeal plays a massive role.

This doesn’t excuse blatant rape like Cosby and the Spacey allegations. That’s just plain criminal.

The #MeToo stuff has been hijacked by Hollywood. Instead of overpaid actors who wouldn’t have got anywhere without there looks, I’m more concerned about the struggles that ordinary people (mostly women) face in getting equality and a fair crack of the whip, or low profile sex offences where justice is rarely served.

    I am sorry.......

Whilst I do agree that rape and abuse are abhorrent violent crimes and whomever is guilty should face the full force of the laws, but I think that in this particular instance quite a few of those (pseudo) actresses prostituted themselves in exchange for acting jobs.
It is all very good and well shouting rape years after the fact when the job offers start drying up...

One thing I do agree wholeheartedly is that Weinstein should rot in jail for taking advantage of some desperate women, but the calculating and scheming ones going after compensation by joining a bandwagon do not deserve anything.
He is not the only guilty party, in what I call the "transactions"..

    My humble opinion.
    End of.

It is up to the man to walk away when a woman or girl says "no".
There are no excuses for rape - even if some women or girls have used the casting couch to further their careers.

They could have been reprehensible "business transactions", we were not there, so it may not have been rape.
Certainly if a jury of his peers find him guilty, so be it. No mercy. But at the moment he is being judged by media trial stoking bad feelings locally, that I cannot see him having a fair hearing as all jurors minds have been made up already.

On the face of all the evidence it would appear he has committed some horrific crimes, but has he been found guilty
and probably most of the baying do-gooders

I think that the sheer amount of women who have come forward shows that his guilt is cut and dried.
Maybe there's an outside chance of him being innocent but I just can't see it myself.
The witness statements for the prosecution will be damning and overwhelming.

    Mindyou, OJ walked free.

There's no doubt Weinstein is guilty. He's become the sacrificial lamb. I bet a load of Hollywood execs are looking at new properties in Rio de Janeiro or Cebu in order to stay at arms reach from Uncle Sam.

Just a shame so much attention is focused on the freak show off Hollywood whilst ordinary women are still left without a voice.
