I lodged my application on the 6th of July and on the 13th, I got an email from UKBA Manila Hub saying that my visa will be dispatched shortly and then the following day it was delivered at my doorstep. That's 5 working days, I guess! I am over the moon. I still can't believe I got it that quickly. I thought I had to wait for a month or so. God is good! I would like to thank this forum especially Micawber who took time to help me in regards to my accommodation requirements. Thank you, thank you, thank you very much. :vhappy:
Thank you, Micawber, redbricks, and aposhark! I have a question though, I know I'm thinking way ahead but if the time comes for me to apply for an FLR and then an ILR, will I be under the new rules already?
Nope. You have applied and been granted a visa under the "old rules" and you will remain under those rules right through your immigration journey to ILR. This means that once you are married you can immediately apply for FLR for 24 months then apply ILR :vhappy: All applications on and after 9th July will be for a 5 years immigration journey to ILR
Hi Everyone, Faye here....I decided to join and post something because I am quite worried. I am wondering why I still havent got any word from the vfs/ukba when I lodged my application last July 02? A friend of mine lodged her application last July 06 and same with manilabong got her visa on the 13th...what could be the reason behind this? Anyone can please explain? I am worried ;{
I also tried to track my application status online and I got the same reply as the one I got from the UKBA on the same day I lodged my application that my papers are still being processed at theBritish Embassy
Hello Faye, welcome here to the forum. There can be any any number of reasons to account for variations in the processing time taken for individual applications. Could be the speed and methodology at which the Entry Clearance Office works or the amount of backlog on the desk of the Assistance ECO's or even the section regime demanded by the individual managers. Also there are a number of tasks that are done on a specified sample size of applications. These are purely random and just part of the quality and performance monitoring process. I would't get concerned just now it's still only been 10 days. Good luck for a great outcome.
Thank you very much for making me feel hopeful....I cant help but think of all the things we sacrificed just to complete the requirements and come up with the amount that we needed to have in the bank plus all the expenses.
Congrats!!! manilabong, do you mind telling me what type of visa did you obtained recently? :cheer: Is it to enter UK on Spouse visa (mine took 1 week) or Indefinite Leave to remain visa (2 hours processing by appointment). :england:
How exciting! :vhappy: you know the feelings when something get done according to your plan! :cheer: now, the minute you land here at least make sure you have 6 important documents together what my hubby did was he recorded me as proxy on his voters record and I vote of him so his name is on the card and addressed to me, that is one solid record, council tax, life, insurance, bank statement, utility bills like electric and gas and water. All of those don't waste time link your name the minute you land here okay?
