I'll be wanting to buy a budget 42/43" TV for the Philippines.

I've come across a brand called CHiQ which I can only assume is a budget brand because of its prices.
Here's one at just £160! As much as I love the price and the specs being decent too, I am hesitant to buy one at that price.

Then there's this Xiaomi one at £287, still cheap yet decent brand (especially in the phone business) with 4K and better specs all round.

These are just examples but I don't know all the budget brands in the Philippines and if they fall 'very' short of the main brands. I remember seeing TCL as well, which after a bit of research, seems well known in the USA as a budget brand.

I know with Xiaomi phones, you certainly get more bangs for bucks and give the likes of Samsung a run for their money but is that the same for their TVs too?

If anyone knows of any brands or particular models that you can recommend then I'd be very grateful if you would let me know.

    Thanks very much.

I have been quite happy with our 49" Toshiba 4K , in fact I would not go back to Samsung over saturated colours ever again.

i bought several LG tv's, blue ray player, surround sound dvd system, dvd recorder. All packed up far sooner than expected. My present 49 " Techwood was cheap--and so far so good.

TCL are good I got a 55" model in Dec 2019 still going fine 3 and a half years later and as an ex professional photographer from 40 years ago and now amatuer, the colour quality and overall image quality is very good, not up to a top of the range LG OLED but still great value for money I paid about 28000 peso in 2019 for our set.

My friend in Cumbria has the exact same model, I was surprised same screen same case but different software for the UK market even the remote was the same as mine in the Philippines, sadly I can't remember the model number but they will have a newer better equivalent by now anyway.
