Personally if you have a broad open mind I would start by looking at England, Wales or Scotland? A city by the sea or not? Have you relatives in any city? Nort or South, compile a wish list for you both! Affordability, job front.

    Chester???

Close to major cities like Manchester, Liverpool, Brum and a stone throw away from the Welsh beaches, valleys and mountains.

Cheaper than the big cities, but even cheaper than that in North Wales..........

The weather is just as miserable as anywhere else in the UK, so no loss there........

I don't know what jobs both you and your wife have?

Most people move to where they will be able to find work and that means they will have to do some research beforehand.

I have driven through Milton Keynes many times and the hundreds of roundabouts there are a pain in the backside.
Also it is a new city and, from what I have seen, seems quite uninviting as it doesn't appear to have any charm.

Liverpool and Manchester are both friendly, Northern cities. Manchester's nightlife is second to none.

I lived in Chester for many years and it was very picturesque and has hundreds of watering holes, although property is expensive there.

As I get older I prefer quieter places for my kids but I loved busy places when I was your age.

    Yeah
For me at this moment i like busy places with plenty of shops etc.
We both really do basic warehouse jobs and we have thought about that some good comments

The good thing is that warehouses are everywhere in the UK so you should be able to find work quite easily.

Weren't you buying a house in Burton or Stoke on trent only a year or so back? What's the trigger for you to move from there? I actually like Milton Keynes, very nice town, most youngsters go where the work is, you have to initially to build the bank balance.

I have been in and out of warehouses all over the UK constantly for almost fifteen years and they basically work in the same way. A lot of agencies try to put as many workers in there as the agencies are paid by the hour for everyone they supply.
The company, say Royal Mail for example, will induct agency workers into their site where they are trained to work the way Royal Mail wants. After a certain period, the best agency workers are offered positions directly with Royal Mail. The agency may have to pay Royal Mail a certain amount of money as the agency can no longer make money on that agency worker.
So, people like you and your wife will be trained in many of the types of work that Royal Mail wants and you should be able to work for Royal Mail rather than the agency. Some agency workers don't want to transfer over to Royal Mail as they prefer the freedom of movement that agencies offer.

The reason why I am typing this is that, while you are not tied down with children, both you and your wife are very flexible to go anywhere and choose the warehouse work you want. :like:

All income can be combined Bigmac, plus savings all can go towards financial requirement, but back to the topic, Bournemouth/Poole area are very nice though the cost of property reflect that fact, then there is Swindon, Cirencester around the Mid West, Cotswold area, or anywhere along the M4 corridor which slightly cheaper and easy access to London. Lots of warehouses springing up along the M6/M1 south of Coventry, Hermes and Amazon are just 2 that spring to mind.
