Have been back in UK for a few months and now and have a iPhone 5 have been trying to get this unlocked but doesn't seem to be anywhere here in London to get this done, does anyone know anywhere i can get this done or maybe its better to sell to someone who is going back to Phil.

As far as I'm aware, they need unlocking through Apple and take 3 weeks (assuming the contract is over). But I've seen shops here in Manchester advertising this service, though they don't mention a 5:geek:

I'll also be interested once you find out because I'm currently rocking an iPhone 5 (literally, I'm on a bus now typing from it) but I'll get a newer one before Christmas. Which will leave a spare UK bought iPhone 5 that my wife and I might consider giving to a Filipino relative.

Kuya there are a few places in London said they could do it but when they checked said they couldn't, did think about jail-breaking but thats ok if you don't ever want to iTunes or any software updates as it reverts back.

I have had two iphone 4s unlocked now. One was locked to Vodaphone and that was no good to me. The other was locked to O2 and that was no good to me as I am forced to use an Isle of Man providers sim and they arent the same as the UK. Not cheap though.

You will find they use either Sure or Manx Telecom (unless they constantly roam).

Yes, maybe there is a problem unlocking a locked iPhone 5 from the Philippines in the UK? First port of call would be Apple, I would say. Just have a chat with them.

That's my problem before. I just gave my iPhone to my sister when my friend left the U.K.

I brought my wife a iphone 5 off ebay that was apparently simfree from xarphone warehouse. Long story short, any phone from carphone warehouse becomes locked to the first sim that is put in it. I spent a long time running round places at the time (Oct 13) trying to get it unlocked but no one would accept responsibilty for it inc apple, carphone warehouse, virgin or O2. Ended up selling it and getting her a brand 5c from apple. £500 a day before emigrating!!!!! Be interested to see how you get on.
