Hello everyone, our first step has been done, got married last week here in England in a beautiful country side, i entered with Marriage Visit Visa Type C, my husband is Hungarian national, working and living in UK, I just want to know your opinion about our next venture, i am thinking of applying UK Residence Card via form EEA (FM). i am legally entitled to EU rights now beacause i am married to EU citizen, protected by European Union TREATY rights which supersede domestic immigration rules, thus my marriage visa is irrelevant, Domestic rules now no longer apply, only EU rules are relevant. Do i have a point? http://www.europeanlawmonitor.org/.../eu-law-does...
Although not really necessary in the scheme of things, I strongly recommend that you apply for a residence card if you want to travel back and for, to the Philippines, without your husband.... It will make it so much easier..
Hi Calyn I know you posted this back in April but did you get your residency visa? Myself and my partner have just been married in the UK and we will be applying for the settlement visa in November
My partner is in the UK on a marriage visitor visa and will be returning back to the Philippines next month. Around November time we will apply for a settlement visa. Did you get your settlement visa, any advice?
@Emmalouconnell, i did not apply for Residency Visa,...my visa when i entered UK was MArriage visit visa, got married in April then i applied for UK Resident Card...i received the long COA which permits me the rights to work while i am under application of UKRC which will be due by Nov... *My husband is EU National.
Just wanted to give an update.....I got the UKRC issued on Nov.4 sent Nov.8 but i missed and redelivered yesterday.. the 6month waiting is over...and we just booked our flight for the X'mas Holidays....
