Hi, need some advice. My girlfriend is in the resto trade, she wanted to open another one in Manila. She found one being renavated so put down a £600 deposit on it back end of last year .Since then she decided not to go ahead and has tried to get the deposit back. After to visits to the Muslim owners she has got two payments back totalling £170.Not sure if she can get the full deposit back..would it be worth her going to the small claims court ?

I didn't even know they had a small claims court, so you set me looking for information, I have not read all of this link yet or watched the video but it might be instructive :-

I didn't know such a thing existed either. It does make me wonder how long the process would take though.

I think it's new Paul, so I doubt anyone knows much about it yet.

Yea. Definitely a good thing to have and the video you found explains the whole process. The only bit I don't really like is the the initial raffle. The marriage process (judge's appearance) sometimes works on a raffle. Those who pass the right amount of pesos suddenly appear at the top of the raffle list of course.

Im deviating but Im sure the OP will find the excellent video very useful.

Well she had to pull out as it turned out to be a mainly Muslim development and there would of been issues with the cooking etc. That wasn't disclosed at the begining. Will give it a go.Thanks for info.
