    Im a little confused ???

    Doesn't take much

"You have to obtain a notice of marriage before you can tie the knot. Make sure to schedule an appointment with the Hong Kong Marriage Registration Office at least 17 days before the planned date. You can easily make an appointment through the online service of the Immigration Department."

So we have to go 17 days before date off marriage to see the registration officer ???

Disney: Hmmm.... when I went, three of the eight rides were closed for maintenance and as if that wasn't bad enough, coach parties of factory workers on a freeby jolly from across the border in mainland China are marched to the front of the queues at all the rides whilst you, who've paid handsomely for your tickets, are forced to wait until the small armies of comrades have had their fill. The rides are outnumbered two or three to one by "shopping opportunities" which the visiting factory workers avoid.

For accommodation, I'd choose the Holiday Inn on Tsim Sha Tsui: it's a well-priced and comfortable hotel right in the heart of some of the best shopping, entertainment and eateries in all Kowloon. It is also a two minute walk to Tsim Sha Tsui underground station from where you can get anywhere, including Disney and the airport (buy Oyster cards on arrival at the airport). Ten minutes away is Ocean Terminal which is now one of the most expensive shopping malls in Asia.

Cheers Mark, I have been before, but not to Disney, I'm sure the kid will be excited, I can take it or leave it.

I've booked the Harbour Inn in Kowloon, got a good deal and I do like Kowloon.

Anyone want a watch bringing back

I hate shopping in Hong Kong. Most of the shop keepers are extremely rude once they sense that you are checking out their price for comparison with other shops. One shop keeper even suggested I should Fox Trot Oscar.

I bought an Omega Speedmaster in HK for £30 some years ago, still looks the biz and is still going strong.

There is one small fly in the ointment as it were with Kristines passport. Its still in her married name and to get it to the HK Registrar it has to be 3 months before the wedding date so it would have to be sent last week Dec latest.

Our annulment attorney says she will have all the annulment and legal papers with Kristine by 2nd week in December which I think might be a bit late to get her passport changed into her maiden name.

Do you think the HK Registrar will be OK with this ??

Can anyone help with this question please:-

My Question to HK immigration :-

    "Good morning from the UK.

Myself and my fiancé intend to get married in Hong Kong.

My Fiance has just had her marriage annulled, we have all the papers from the courts and lawyers.

Her passport will still be in her married name, will this be a problem when I send all the documents through to give notice of intended marriage.

    Many thanks for any help"

    ------------------------------------

    The Answer :-

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail message.

You may wish to know that names of the bridegroom and the bride appear on the marriage certificate are recorded according to their travel document / proof identity provided for giving the notice of intended marriage in Hong Kong.

It will her own desire if she intends to display her married name (name on her passport) on her marriage certificate if she is going to submit her current passport (under the marrid name) for giving the notice of intended marriage in Hong Kong.

    -----------------------------------------------------

After reading the answer Im still none the wiser

    LOL

It's really very simple: if your fiancée's Passport bears her former married name then the Hong Kong Registry will use that name on the Certificate of Marriage. If you, or she, wishes the Certificate of Marriage to bear her maiden name then you will need to delay your application to the Hong Kong authorities until she has applied for and received a new Passport in that name.
