Phils, Janna is British and Filipino, James is only Filipino because he was born before the UK changed the law in July 2006 which gave unmarried British fathers the same rights as British mothers, so he was not automatically British but Janna is. Janna needs her British passport renewed as well but that is really hard and dangerous because the original has to be posted all the way to the UK with nearly as many supporting documents as when we first got it for her, I am not willing to take the risk. But it is a real bummer discovering that getting a replacement passport in the Phils is getting just as hard, I was going to apply and bring Janna and her mum over here on a holiday Janna would travel on her Philippine passport and then I would renew her British passport here. Her mum can travel easily because although she is Filipino and can't currently get a Philippine passport she does have Korean citizenship as well and can travel to the UK easily on the Korean passport.
There's no other tips as far as I know. Just make sure that all her details are ready so you won't spend more than 15 minutes on the site as applicants are only allowed 15 minutes. If you wish to do it for her, let her fill in the blank form I attached so it will be easy for you to transfer the details online. Remember it's a competition. The slots sometimes disappear in seconds, from my experience. It is very easy and straightforward process. You can also check the step by step process on youtube. There are Filipino Bloggers who explain the whole process from start to finish with some tips/explanation as well. I would suggest you check on YouTube first. Here's the link: but it's in Filipino, unfortunately. You can ask her to watch it as well .
I made the appointment online (from UK) for my wife's Phils passport renewal. I also filled in and printed off the form. Appointment was a month or so ahead. She's now been to it, and will collect her passport after another 2 weeks. (Dagupan office).
