Well, All UK residents that is.... ;)

British Gas has announced that they will provide free cavity and wall insulation for all homes in the UK - Even if you are not a British Gas customer!:like:

It’s worth £1000, including materials and labour and, could save you hundreds of pounds each year. As we get little free in this country, if you think this would benefit you. Give them a call on 0800 077 3717

Thought I would give you guys a heads up.

    Seriously?

There must be over 20,000,000 homes in the UK, that would be (worst case obviously) a 20 billion pound boost to the construction industry all funded by one company?

Who they going to borrow the money from?

Well, the offer ends on 30th November.. Take it as you will but that page on the British Gas website is clearly offering free insulation to people regardless of their supplier.

I had my house cavity wall insulated, in Manchester, about 20 years ago. It wasn't cheap but it was a good investment. My only complaint was that they ruined a few outer bricks, to inject the material and it was a good job that half the house was rendered.

Ah sorry silly me, I didn't notice the big blue link that I asked for only 2 days ago  :D

Sadly I rent and I will be under a duvet on the couch from the end of September onwards until it gets really bad around December when I will switch on the heating for 3 months :)
