Hi, I am a victim of the alleged infamous UK Filipina con artist Helena Pedroche. I am posting information about this scammer to provide awareness and warn the British Filipino community. If you have any information about her please report it to you local authority or UK's Action Fraud agency.

She uses different alias and may claim different tales (ie. daughter of Marcos, Airline Pilot, Travel Agent, Daughter of Miss Spain)

Dave, I am not sure the context of your reply but it sounds like you're amused by another's misfortune. If you've listened to the interview, you would've learned that one of her victims was a 64 year old woman who lost all of her retirement money. Did you find that amusing?

These Philippine scammer stories are always amazing, this beats the old card game hands down, it is difficult to believe how easily some people get taken in.

Incidentally, is it not strange that you complain about her using different aliases, whilst you choose to post under an alias of the lady herself.

Rather confusing at first, please don't scam me Helena!

So my assumption was right - you are entertained by other people's misfortune. You make it sound like all victims of fraud are stupid and ignorant. Well let's hope that you or any of your family member do not become a victim of fraud.

Any chance of telling us how you came to be a victim...?
    It is no laughing matter.

I am also kind of baffled as to your choice of Forum name and Avatar.
It unfairly brings people here, while searching for her online, and we have nothing to do with the matter.
Although the extra traffic may well be welcome, the misleading association ain't...

    Welcome aboard.

Helena Pedroche ventured in selling fake airline tickets to the Philippines. And unfortunately, many Filipinos had to cancel their holiday vacation after learning that their tickets were fake. I am spreading the news out there to bring awareness (especially in the Filipino community) and hopefully help prevent future fraud cases from this foul woman. And if by chance that a member on this forum encounters this woman, hopefully the post had enough information to protect him/her from being swindled.

I find it remarkably disturbing that somebody uses another persons name as forum_name and their image, as forum_avatar in what seems to be a well planned attempt to discredit that person.

As they say, two wrongs don't make a right.

If what the forums and t'internet say, is true, then that woman is discredited enough and already has no place to hide.

But yeah, I do take kind of issue with the forum name and avatar.

But let's see where it leads for now.

I am grateful for the heads up, anyway, as I never heard of hear, and a quick search shows that she has been a pain in the arse for a lot of Kababayans.

So I guess the skull image on your avatar is your actual photo of yourself, or at least you own the copyright, correct? And how about your screen name, is that your real name?

If you didn't like my post, you could've just ignored it...I didn't really care for your insensitive remark and it was not appreciated.

I don't think scammers in general would have the audacity or the inclination to discredit themselves in public in this way. Not normally speaking anyway. If you wanted to scam somebody you wouldn't start off by saying hey, I am a scammer, pleased to meet you. They rely on "stealth" to catch the unwary.

A warning against a scam is always a good thing, and I can certainly see the funny side of stealing the identity of the alleged scammer as an avatar.

But if you do this, don't be too "onion skinned"!

This is such a shame that a Filipino would scam others abroad, can anyone tell how or where she started? It seems like she is very, very rich now with all the money she stole.

Funny though, her accent has changed but then her English grammar is still horrendous.

My husband got scammed by a couple (FIl-Am and American) in Boracay prior to meeting me and still battling in court up to now. If a lot of people in British Filipino would act like Dave E, it's really a pity that people can be downright mean.

I don't see anything that suggests that Dave E was "rejoicing in another's misfortune".

Unfortunately it seems that wherever there is a Filipino expatriate community, there will be a scammer or two preying on the lonely and the gullible by "befriending" them. I have seen it again and again.

If I had been scammed and the person had got away with it, apart from getting over the embarassment, I would want that person to suffer the appropriate consequences. I can see the opening posters point and objective.

I cant see Helena Pedroche Skeggs putting herself up under her own name and avatar to set up her next super scam so I surmise the OP is genuine.

I can understand that few victims of confidence tricksters like to admit to their folly, because in general the scammers rely on the greed of their victims, but I would be happier if the OP had used a pseudonym rather than stealing the identity of the alleged confidence trickster.

I agree. Possibly not the best path to take. Maybe the OP thought it would generate maximum publicity? Maybe just a mistake by the OP? People dont always behave rationally under such circumstances.

It's prolly for added publicity, if you google the name, this post would come up.
