    Hi All,

Thanks to the help of the people on here and reading lots of posts we eventually got our Fiancé visa last week after much stress and expense as I am sure all of you are aware of!

My question is I need to marry my Fiance within the 6 months, can I go up to the weekend before the Fiancé Visa expires? The reason is we both want maximum time to arrange the wedding and she wants to be sure that she can adapt to life in the UK and the cold!

What do we have to apply for next after we are married to keep her in the UK, assuming of course she marries me, I am hoping she will! Also how soon can we apply after we are married? I don't want to be in the situation where we are married but then she has to go home because I have done something wrong, or missed something.

I am just wondering whether you have to apply for the next step a certain number of days before the current Fiance Visa expires?

all advice is welcome, thanks in advance,

    Sateev.

Once you are married your wife will be immediately eligible to apply to FLR(M) (Further Leave to Remain)
She'll need to submit that application before the Fiance(e) visa expires.
Personally I wouldn't cut the target dates too fine, just in case of potential delays.
UKVI are not known for understanding and compassion.

I haven't yet come by a Filipina who really couldn't adapt UK life and weather.
Well except for my wife
But then she was spoiled by a good life in Japan

bigmac, just to let you know I found a bottle of Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2006 at the Robinsons Cybergate here in Davao for P2650 (about £38 at current RoE)
Needless to say I purchased their entire stock of 2 bottles.
Doubt that'll ever be imported again.

    Hi Micawber,

so I will need to apply so that we allow enough time for the FLR to be granted before the Fiance Visa expires? Or can we apply for it say a week before? I just don't want to mess up!

you can get FLR same day service--in person--for an extra £400. that means you can send her out to work next day. lol

Not really, as long as the Date of Application for FLR(M) is made before expiry of her existing visa. It can be 24 hours before expiry if you can plan it that way.
Her immigration status remains legal during the full length of time for UKVI decision making process.

    Hi Sateev,

    Congratulations on getting the visa

Myself and my Filipino boyfriend and just starting the process of applying for the 6 months marriage visa, any advice would be a great help

Did you use a uk solicitor or did you complete the application?

What evidence did you provide to prove your relationship and evidence your partner will return to the Philippines at the end of the visa?

    Hi Emma,

If you are applying for a fiancee visa, your bf will not go back to phils. You would have to marry within the 6 month timeframe and apply for the spouse visa.[/QUOTE]

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.
We can't apply for the fiancé visa just yet because I'm currently on maternity leave with our daughter and with me being my boyfriends sponsor I can't yet provide the 6 months payslips

Once I return back to work within the next few months I will be able to provide the payslips we need for the fiancé/spouse visa. This is why we wish to apply for the marriage visa first and my bf will return back to the Philippines at the end of the 6 months stay

Ah okay.. got it. Well I think the evidence or proof of return will be similar to that of an application for visit visa i.e. bank statements, employment or school commitments, etc.

And that, in a nutshell, sums up what is so damn wrong with the current rules on immigration.

Good luck with everything. Your situation should count for something, but, unfortunately with this government it doesn't.
