Hi @tipipay. Just want to ask. How many copies of CENOMAR did you request from NSO? I'm thinking of getting two, but it may just be a waste of money. How about birth certificates?

@Numpters i requested 2 copies (its cheap anyway). I submitted one copy at the time of my application plus a photocopy. When the decision arrived, the original was returned.

I still have 2 copies with me here in scotland which proved to be useful. When we filed for our marriage license last dec 28th at glasgow city chambers, they asked for a 'certificate of no impediment' or equivalent. So i gave them one original CENOMAR which they said was acceptable but they will need to keep the original (i dont know what i would do if i didnt have cenomar with me as the wedding is 5 weeks away at the time of application).

Thanks Maley! It's 450 pesos per copy where I live, but that's with a handling and delivery fee. And birth certificate is 350 pesos per copy. Was it the same for you? How many birth certificates do you have?

That is the same as mine. Paid php 900 for the two copies including courier fee.
I didnt order any recent birth certificate - i had a copy from the time i have applied for my passport years back plus i still have the original (one when i was born).

Hi @Numpters -- I only took one of each documents. As for the visa is concerned, as long as you provide photocopies of the original documents you have, the embassy/ECO will return all originals. However, @Maley has a point. These documents might be again required on some instances like for the wedding and they ask for the originals. Hopefully, the registrar office will agree to only take a copy and not the original. But if they do, I'll just have to let go. After the wedding, my status will be married anyways. :D

Hi @tipipay and everyone else! I have questions I hope you can answer :)

    1. What does provisional booking mean?
    2. How did you pick which conversations to screenshot for evidence of relationship? I'm having a hard time with that lol.
    3. Did you not provide any proof of wedding preparations? Based on stories I've read on other forums, some were denied fianceé visas because they did not provide enough evidence of wedding prep.

To prove your intent to marry in the UK a provisional booking is enough. It is a proof that you have already booked a date for your giving of notice in the UK. Sometimes a designated registrar in the UK won't provide a booking but the exchanged email between them will suffice. Try to tell your fiance to email the local registar (or any designated registrar in the UK) or try calling them if they will provide you a booking. :)

Pick the conversations where you talk about future plans or random talk just to show that you keep in touch everyday. A convo where you both show care and affection but please not the private ones :)

The booking from registrar has always been enough proof for fiance visa but sometimes the ECO is not convinced. I also included email from Star Wedding Ring inquiring about buying a wedding ring. You can also include quotes about your wedding car, wedding photographer, engagement ring, wedding reception and things like that. Note these will be helpful but not necessary. If you can get a provisional booking then that's good enough :)

Thank you Brom! You are always very helpful. Please never change :)

Anyway, I did not know you were already in the UK! Hope you are having a great time. If you don't mind, where are you located when are you getting married (if you haven't already)?

No worries. ;) Yes I am in the UK already more than a month now. I am in a small town in Lincolnshire and getting married next month ;)

For a month already! Here I was, waiting for your visa approval lol. My future parents-in-law are from Lincolnshire. Maybe we'll bump into each other in the future? Anyway, good luck and hope you have a blast there!

Lol I think you've not been active recently so you didn't see my posts. Anyway thank you and I'll be happy to meet you one day. I don't know anyone yet from Lincolnshire so would be good yeah :)

And best of luck on your application :)

    A. Ask your fiance to book a date with the registrar you are planning to marry. It is called 'provisional' booking because until you are interviewed and you have provided the requirements, you are technically reserving a time and date with a registrar. As @Brom27 have mentioned, some would allow you to reserve but sometimes they would want to conduct the interviews- just dependent on the registrar.

    B. i've used about 50pages of conversation, besides skype we communicate mainly watsapp. So i've picked up our very first conversation, holiday plans together, messages on special occasions (bday, Vday, anniv, etc). I have avoided putting racist or political convo. And i've specially made sure no x-rated ones, lol.

    C. I've put a section for wedding plans . This contains photos of designs i like for a wedding dress (ie since its a civil registrar, i was looking for short dresses), emails for restaurant booking (my fiance emailed jamie's italian and asked if they are available on the date and time we wanted, which they replied yes). Invitation format i just took from a website from vista print. I have a guest list and an expense breakdown as well but i know its not necessary (i mean i already have it so why not put it in there).

Seems your questions were already answered @Numpters :)

As for #3 -- We only provided provisional booking, photo and receipt of my engagement ring. The details I provided seem to convince the ECO. Also, I stated in my cover letter that we intend to prepare other details of the wedding once I'm already in the UK.

Hope to hear another good news from you soon. :)

Thanks @Maley! Your post is extremely helpful. I especially liked parts B and C as they are concrete examples. Thank you so much.

Thanks @tipipay! I have another question that you (or anyone) may have the answer to. So I'm assuming that your fiance owns your house - just want to confirm that you did not send a land registry doc or a title deed. I read that other applicants submitted theirs, and I was wondering if that was necessary.

In my case, we only submitted the NatWest mortgage statement plus other utility bills to verify the address. We didn't provide the deeds/title as my fiance don't feel comfortable sending it via courier. The seems enough for the ECO.
