Anyone happen to be waiting for theirs currently? I'm on a UK Spouse Visa group on facebook and the average wait time after biometrics seems to be about 8 weeks for a reply.. we're on week 4 and i'm going stir crazy!

    I feel your pain...!

When we applied for my (now) Wife's original Fiancee Visa we waited SIX MONTHS exactly, to the day, from hitting 'Send' on the online application to receiving the result!

I'm assuming you are here in the UK, so be thankful for that, but the wait for a result can be both exhausting and nerve-racking! What you have found from the FB Group appears to be reasonably accurate... Good luck.

6 months?? I do hope ours is closer to the 8 weeks timeline than 6 months! Haha. Our ceremony is booked for October 24th so ideally he's here by mid September at the latest so we can give notice :)) things can be moved and everyone we've booked with is aware of our situation but I can't help but be hopeful that it'll happen for the date that we've booked for! I'm just terrified of a rejection (as I'm sure everyone is) and I keep running through other peoples posts to see if I've missed anything and thus far everything that's been posted I know we uploaded and submitted so fingers crossed!
Yes, I'm the one in the UK and my S/O is waiting for his fiance visa! We still need to book the CFO appointment but hoping for the one online. If we're lucky we'll get a response by the end of July and then it'll be all systems go! I'm excited and nervous and stressed all in one bundle

Ah, OK - so your partner is applying for a FV 'from outside the UK'. In that case, although all statistics are retrospective and there will always be 'exceptions', the second link I Posted may give you a more accurate estimate of current (2023) waiting times... 24 weeks (page updated 26 June 2023).

ah yes we know it says can take up to 24 weeks! but that was during covid / ukraine crisis. the group i'm in on facebook has people most days updating their timelines and its been roughly 7-12 weeks for both FV and SV, with most people hearing about the 8 week mark! so hopefully that will be us as well

I went through it using standard service end of March (biometrics on 23 Mar) decision came back 5 weeks I think. Unfortunately it was a refusal and it was overturned and received on 16 May. She arrived here 27 May

You can do the CFO NOW while you’re waiting for the visa - it’s a pain in the arse getting an appointment. Once your other half gets here passport with visa, she can then just walk in the CFO with her receipt of attendance and get the required certificate to travel, saves a lot of time and hassle

I'm glad you got your positive result! How come it was refused in the first instance, if you don't mind my asking? We haven't heard anything yet and today is our 5th week since biometrics.
Did you do walk in appointment or online one? As we're looking to do online due to time constraints and it seems to be difficult to get an online one without a visa already in hand

The refusal was based on my income. Unfortunately for me I have 3 sources of income, not one. This was obviously too difficult for UKVI to compute and did not include one of my pensions which then, according to them put me below the £18600 threshold. I think it was an email complaint to my local MP that did the trick. He sent it onto UKVI and within a week the decision was reversed. With regards to CFO she attended the seminar, not on line. It was a real pain getting an appointment and we are so glad she got it sorted before her visa came through. I have posted about the CFO saga but basically we had to go online in the middle of the night, we used every email address we both had (about 5) in order to get the registration email sent back (as for half of them we never got a reply). You need that email registration back before you can then go online and choose your appointment date. I don’t know about the on line service, but for attending an appointment, you can do it before you have your visa and while her passport is with UKVI. The on line appointment form asked if she has her visa or not. After attending she is given a receipt which allows her to just go and walk in when she gets her passport back. They then give her the required certificate for immigration at the airport (they don’t give passport stickers any more). When my wife left on 26 May, the first and most important thing they asked for was the CFO certificate.

I have only just realised you’re going through the FV route. Sorry, we decided to marry in Philippines and so only went through the spouse visa route.

No need to apologise, the requirements are very similar! We just weren't sure if we could do the online CFO seminar before the visa approval came through. We're currently on week 5 since my SO took his biometrics and the average turnaround seems to be about 8 weeks, so hopefully we are within touching distance of a result. At least you managed to get your refusal over turned in such a short space of time! Thankfully I only have one source of income and have been with my employer over 3 years now so in theory it's a very straight forward application.
Hopefully I can find out some information about the online seminar because if my SO is able to do it before the visa is through that would make our lives so much easier

oh--i thought that phrase applied to someone " in a relationship" ( whatever that means)--but wasnt regarded as a fiance or spouse. Just a temporary position.

If my (now) wife had referred to me as her "significant other"--i wouldnt be any more. But i suppose its a slight promotion from " insignificant one of many "

Ah fair enough! Haha. I find it weird calling my other half my fiancée but he’s upgraded from boyfriend so I can’t call him that either so I settle for significant other

i bet he's gonna just love it being referred to as your "SO" when he gets here. Is that how you will introduce him to your friends & family ?

    Stay strong.
There were times during the spousal visa process when all seemed black for us many years ago.
Jogging kept me sane in those days.

"S.O." seems to fit in with a woman's way of thinking if you don't mind me saying so!

thank you, I appreciate this comment. I felt like I was referring to him in a negative light when that isn't the case :p
