I have found a provider who provides call to UK landlines and mobiles at just 0.1p/min. Yes, that really is just one tenth of a penny per minute, with no call connection fee. Calls to Philippines land-lines are 7.2p/min and 9.0p/min. to mobiles. If you have an Android, Windows, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Blackberry or Symbian device you can download software to get these incredible rates too, but be aware of any data charges made by your carrier. Whichever method you use, you always get a clear indication of the per minute cost before the call is connected. Strangely, if you use your own VOIP (SIP) client software, the rates to UK landlines increase to 0.5p/minute and calls to UK mobiles to 7.2p/minute and you get no notification of the per minute charge when you make the call. Rates to Philippines remain the same. There is one other method of making calls which involves callback. For this, there is a set-up fee of around 4p/call plus the callback at 0.1p/min. plus the charge for the call of your chosen destination. It is a Pay as You go Service, and you have to add a minimum credit of 10 Euros + VAT. With the processing fee I think I had to pay about £11.62 to get 10 Euros (before VAT) credit. The credit lasts indefinitely.
