Hello. I would like to ask regarding the Non-salaried employment under category A of the Financial requirements. My husband is under that category and my questions is, does he need to meet the 1,550 gross monthly income to be able to meet the income threshold or,its fine to have variable income each month so long as upon computation using the annualised average calculation you passed the 18,600. i.e (total income held throughout the 6 months period divided by 6 multiplied by 12), you passed the 18,600 Thanks in advance. Blithe
If your hubby's income is variable and below the threshold some months, I am wondering if it is Category B for you. "5.3. Category B: Less than 6 months with current employer or variable income – person residing in the UK 5.3.1. This category can be used where the applicant‟s partner (and/or the applicant if they are in the UK with permission to work) is in salaried or non-salaried employment at the date of application, but has not been with the same employer and/or not earning the income level relied upon in the application for at least 6 months prior to the date of application. It can therefore be used by those who have been with their current employer for less than 6 months, or who have been with their current employer for at least 6 months but earning a variable income and wish to be considered in this category rather than under Category A. Hi Johnash. Thanks for the reply. I am really confused now which category does my husband belong. Still trying to figure out whats the difference between the category A non-salaried and categoy B.
If you click on the link in my previous post then you will see in the list of contents that a key distinction between the two categories is that Category B addresses those on a variable income. Section 5.4
