Did the Oxford test certificate have a test centre ID on the approved list?
Seems Oxford is not currently listed on the approved test centre list?

Any test taken after 6th April 2015 have to be SELT and listed on approved list.
    https://assets.publishing.service.g...ently-asked-questions-for-candidates-v2.0.pdf

Family Partners under Chapter 8 - Section 2, 2.1 Approved Test Providers
Under transitional arrangements, applicants who took an approved test before 6 April 2015 may continue to rely on that test (if it was in Appendix O on 5 April 2015) to meet the English language requirement in a partner or parent application as long as they submitted their application before 6 November 2015 and regardless of whether the test was taken at a test centre approved by the Secretary of State as a secure English language test centre. The list of approved providers and tests at 5 April 2015 is available on gov.uk at: Approved SELT tests transitional list.

Tests taken on or after 6 April 2015 may not rely on these transitional arrangements regardless of the date of application. Every English language test taken on or after 6 April 2015 by a partner or parent applicant must meet the new requirements in respect of the approved tests, providers and secure test centers offered by Trinity College London or the IELTS SELT Consortium.

It seems earlier non SELT tests may be used for an ILR or Citizenship application, only where the test was taken prior to entry to the UK AND the test center is still listed on the approved list for ILR applications.

For Citizenship there is currently no need for the test to be from approved list?

I visit from time to time and help out if i can. Next year will be my wifes ILR application then citizenship.
There has been quite a few changes to the visa application process since FLR.

My wife went through the ILR after the spousal visa route but she didn't get involved in FLR so I have no idea how that works.
She also did her citizenship and got a British passport.

The mists of time cloud over many of the finer details of the paperchase in my mind and I am not able to comment on many things these days.
Our two children take up most of the waking hours when we are not working.

Getting her passport was the final piece of the expensive process and I breathed a sigh of relief when that dropped in the letterbox.
Best of luck with the remaining obstacles.

That’s correct, my wife had taken a test in 2013/2014, which to my memory - such a list didn’t exist if I recall.

However the last list you linked confirms that, it was previously honoured by score & provider, a relaxed one at that. Not by secure SELT test centres.

Aye I remember around the time that UKBA had “missed” there targets. There was a panorama on an undercover reporter seeing how easy it was to obtain these certificates illegally. Indeed, these false centres have ruined it for the many, unjustifiably so.

My wife is due her ILR application October 2020 (5 year anniversary of landing in the UK) although her visa runs to Feb 2021!
Her daughter will catch up at the ILR stage even though she won't of been in the UK for 5 years, missed a money saving trick with the timings of daughter's applications, you live and learn I guess.

We've commenced the online ILR application in readiness for next year, it starts like past FLR requesting details of family members in Philippines, but goes a bit further requiring details of friends and how much contact is maintained. The Immigration law now requires applicants to give good reason why emigrating to overseas is not an option. Reason MUST be given, otherwise VISA application can be rejected.

We have philippine friends whom hold spanish citizenship and have been granted ILR status free of charge.
Intriguingly the correspondence from the home office states that the letter it self is not granting ILR, but the record of ILR is reliant on officials checking ILR status on government data base.

It begs belief that UK citizens with non-european spouses are not being thought as being discriminated against?

I felt much the same way when we were filling in our application back in July. Felt, unreasonable to ask such questions when the reasons for being together in marriage alone is a reason enough.

the worst question was “could your relationship exist outside the UK?” Well of course, but with many detrimental consequences! Isn’t that the way we’re filling the application in the first place?! /rant

mind you though, We didn’t include too many lines to those questions. Just concise paragraph, didn’t dive into the 2000/3000 character limit hey offer.
